Hi Everyone!
I have an art journal page to share today, that I made with some pieces of a gelli print on which I'd used a Stencil Girl Seth Apter stencil. I cut around the word 'Unfinished' and also cut 3 circles. Now there were some layers already on this page that I didn't like, so I just covered them up, and painted around the cut outs, adding outlines and doodles, then finished with a little journaling, 'When is a page ever truly finished?' If you look closely, you can still see the under layers.
And here are my gelli prints for Days 21 and 22 of Birgit Koopsen's challenge.
Day 21 - Ghost Prints (These are the 2nd or even 3rd prints that you take from the plate, that are obviously less bright, but are often much nicer than the first print)
Day 22 - Multiple Layers - multiple printing on the same piece of paper to achieve a layered effect
Hope you are having a fun and creative week too,
Alison x
Really cool, I like this colorful one very much.

I'm struck by the idea of unfinished change and knowing that "finished" is something it can be hard to determine. I love those colors!
ReplyDeleteFantastic page and wonderful prints. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletegreat journal page, and fab gelli prints!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Alison! Love all the layering. . .
ReplyDeleteAn awesome page and super gelli prints. I liked the sentiment with your page and can relate to journal pages never being finished. I often go back to mine.

I do a lot of ghost printing and multiple layer printing. I can see the difference between those pages and the earlier ones you made with different techniques. I also love your unfinished page too, if it is indeed unfinished. Am enjoying the gelli printing. What is going to be project next month? Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI often quit too soon, so my art is usually unfinished, at least by your definition. I don't layer as much as I should, so I was really impressed with this journal page. I even enlarged it to see the previous layers.
ReplyDeleteI often like my ghost prints better than the original. I guess it's because I get too much paint on the first time, or I don't spread it properly. Yours are fabulous, but the multiple printings are really colorful. I can see these as part of a mixed media piece.
I know exactly what you are saying regarding Is it finished yet??* I often go back to pages and projects and tinker around with them. I believe it's that itchy creative hand that can not be idol for too long.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving everything I see Alison especially as you are using pages from days gone by to complement the new. Great mix..
Have a super weekend Tracey xx
Beautiful page! I agree when is a page ever finished, it's fun to sometimes go back to pages and change them ...lol 😉. The Gelli prints look wonderful too! Hope you had a lovely week and wishing you a happy weekend! J 😊 x
