365 Somethings 2023 - Days 5-13

 Hello All.

In my last post I shared some 5 minute mini collages I made for The Ugly Art Club 5 minute challenge. Well, I decided to carry on with my 5 minute mini collages for my 365 Somethings in 2023. I tend to do this challenge alternate years to give myself a rest from daily art, but I think it was 2020 when I last joined in.

I'm hoping to use up some of my huge stash of scraps and collage fodder this year 😁 I'll try and post my weekly somethings on a Friday, but I'm so dis-organised these days, it'll probably be whenever I remember! 😂

Here are days 5-13...

I hope you enjoyed these little collages as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Thanks for visiting me today.

The Ugly Art Club 5 Minute Challenge

 Hello Everyone.

I love making 5 minute collage art. It's so easy to fit it into a busy day, and to use up some of my scraps in the process.

I was thrilled to see that The Ugly Art Club were doing their 2 week challenge over Christmas and New Year, with some fun prompts and free printable collage pieces to use.

I hope you're sitting comfortably. Here are all of my 15 collages. The theme titles are on them all, on the top right.

I loved making these so much that I'm going to try and carry them on for the 365 Somethings challenge in 2023.

Thanks for visiting,

Alison

Care December. Days 14 - 20

 Hello All.

I don't know where the days go. I did do a lot of walking with friends last week though, which is such a joy and blessing. The weather was almost Spring-like on Friday, and I even spotted a butterfly!

I'm back today to share my final week of pages for Kasia's Care December challenge.

Day 14 - The White Thread with Claudette Hasenjager. This seems like a good page to link to Mia's Use A Photo theme at Art Journal Journey.

Day 15 - Snowflake.

Day 16 - Light like a feather.

Day 17 - Mindfulness reminder. I keep the chipboard heart on my desk as a reminder.

Day 18 - Intentional Social Media. Use social media, but don't let it become harmful to your well-being.

Day 19 - White Icing. What is your white icing?

Day 20 - Thank You.

That's the end of my December pages. I hope you enjoyed them.

Tomorrow I'll share some 5 minute collages I created over Christmas and New Year, for The Ugly Art Club's 5 Minute Challenge.

Thanks for visiting.

Happy New Year!

Hello All.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, if you celebrate it. Ours was spent at our daughter's, and we had a lovely few family days with our son, daughter & her boyfriend. Our new year was a quiet one, and I was asleep before midnight on new year's eve.

I have some catching up to do with my blog posts, my Care December and Art Journal Advent pages, plus some mini collages for The Ugly Art Club 5 minute challenge, but today I thought I'd show you my January art journal calendar spread.

My hopes for 2023 are to go on holiday again. Scotland would be my choice, or a nice cottage somewhere in the north of England. I'm linking my page to Mia's Use A Photo theme for Art Journal Journey.

I started with pieces of gelli-printed collage, then added a layer of dress pattern tissue. I scraped some white acrylic over the top, then added the photos. The circles were cut from gessoed book page, then painted with watercolour. I drew and painted some leaves and my title, and added dots and numbers and watercolour splashes to finish.

Here's my completed December calendar.

Thanks for visiting me today. I'm off to do some blog visiting now, lots of catching up to do.
