Teabag Art for Elizabeth's Earthday Recycling Month.

 Hi everyone.

I'm back today, after dropping off the blogging planet, with a recycling page for Elizabeth's (Altered Book Lover) Earthday celebrations. Elizabeth is sharing my teabag art junk journal page on her blog today.

On a mixed media background I created a pocket with a used teabag, and inserted some cut off scraps from a previous project, adding a little button and some words for my finishing touches.

I'm typing this post one handed as a few weeks ago I tripped and fell in the street, fracturing the top of my humerous, the ball part of my arm that fits into my shoulder socket. Fortunately it was my non-dominant arm, so I'm not completely helpless, but my newly retired husband has stepped up and been amazing in his new job as my carer. Luckily I had this page already made, but I'm sure hubby would have helped with this too.

Seek, Gather, Create August 2024 - Week 1

 Hi All.

Seek, Gather, Create August 2024 is another Instagram challenge, hosted by Tina Hois, Laura Denison, Lisa Goddard and Casey Turner.

These are the prompts for week 1...

Here's the page I created...

I used some gold Twinings Tea plastic wrapping and created a little pocket using staples, made a background with lots of teabag texture and PaperArtsy Seaglass Fresco acrylic paint. I burnt some lace trim which was slightly scary, and added some scribbled journaling, Tim Holtz people and Dymo text.

Scrappy8challenge - August - Salt

 Hi everyone.

Here's my take on the August Scrappy8 challenge on Instagram. This month's theme of SALT was chosen by Dawn/@4gracecreations. 

I went a bit wild adding sea salt to acrylic inks on some watercolour paper, to tear up and use on my art journal page, layered up some collage scraps, and added a little hand-drawn wild flower between my colourful heart flowers. The book text is taken from my old copy of Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice.

Observe

 Hello Friends.

Here's my Day 8 page for Junk Journal July. The theme is Observe, and I found a great image in an old RSPB magazine of the squirrel and camera. I also found the butterflies and moth in the same mag, and used some PaperArtsy patterned tissue, and some vellum birds and a nest. I love to go bird and butterfly spotting, which links with the theme too.

If you look carefully, you'll spot some button images behind the eye, and to the left of the nest, so I'm linking up with Halle's I've got a notion theme at Art Journal Journey.

There are also things with wings, which is the current theme at Try It On Tuesday.

AJJ - I've got a notion

 Hi Everyone.

Today, I have a page to share for day 7 of the Junk Journal July challenge on Instagram, the prompt of which was Window. 

I'm also linking my page to Halle's theme I've got a notion at Art Journal Journey, as I've used some sewing pattern paper, black thread, and ribbon.

I just love this sweet image that I found, which is printed on vellum. I've no idea where it came from, I've had it for ages. I love the Tim holtz word stickers I found in my stash too, I thought they went perfectly with the image. I used some strips of 7 Gypsies patterned paper to create the window frame.
