Christmas Card Time

 Hello again all!

It's that time of year again! I've been making a start on my Christmas cards.

Here's what I've made so far...

The Madonna and Child image is an old Artistic Stamper stamp, no longer available. I used water-soluble crayons to add colour.

The holly is hand-drawn over watercolour on one, and on the bottom one I painted the holly, then added sketchy black pen outlines. Lots of splatters on all of them naturally.

I made a few of each of these 3 designs.

And here are some baubles that I painted with watercolour, then added paint pen doodled designs, and black pen outlines on some.

I made some with warm colours too. I spent a fun evening doodling in front of the TV.

Wishing you all a happy weekend. Thanks for dropping in.

Art Journal Journey - A Single Flower

 Hello All.

I have another page to share for Sheila's A Single Flower theme at Art Journal Journey.

I created the flower, using a black pen on a blue and gold watercolour background. Then I simply layered it with some music paper and another watercolour background, and added some stamped words that are from the Journaling Mini Words background stamp by The Artistic Stamper.

Hope you're having a good week. Thanks for visiting.

Birthday Weekend

Happy new week everyone!

It's been a busy weekend for us, our son turned 28 on Friday, and he and our daughter were both home for some birthday celebrations. We started on his actual birthday with a trip up to London to see a stand up comedy show in Covent Garden. We ate before at a wonderful vegan restaurant called Chloe, then enjoyed lots of laughs at the show. On Saturday, we had a great pub lunch out with all the grandparents. Then yesterday, we went down to Brighton, where our son took part in the half marathon there. It was very wet and windy, but he was thrilled to attain his personal best time of 1 hour, 49 minutes & 37 seconds. Here's a post race photo of Gordon with his medal, and his very proud mum, with the famous Brighton Pier in the background.

And before I go, here's the birthday card I made for Gordon.

Christmas Remakes

Morning Folks!

I received a Christmas card order from a friend, and she really liked this one that I made last year, so I made a couple more in different colours for her.

The background is made with Dylusion Spray Inks and a Crafter's Workshop snowflake stencil. I die-cut two Tim Holtz Tattered Doilies, glued them together, and triple embossed with Frantage Aged Gold & Silver EP. The message stamp is by The Artistic Stamper, inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The ribbon was coloured using the same Dylusions inks as the background.

Which is your favourite?

I'm entering my cards in Country View Crafts' Christmas Challenge.

Have a lovely day!

Birthday and Valentine's Day Cards

Hello Everyone! I'm shivering as I write this, as we still have no heating and hot water. Our boiler has been officially declared dead and unsafe, so Hubby is busy getting quotes for a new one. Brrr!!!

I tried to warm up yesterday, by making a few commissioned cards(didn't work, but it took my mind off it!)

A birthday card, using Craftwork Cards and DCWV products...

Valentine's card, made with stamps Artistic Stamper and Tim Holtz stamps, and Dylusions paint (mostly)

and two cards made with Dylusion paint, and stamps by Dina Wakley and PaperArtsy.

Hope you are warm and having a good week,

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Week Seven

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I'm into the second half of my Funkie Junkie cards, and here's my version of Linda's Week 7 Tag. I was inspired by the centre piece of Linda's tag.

I used Vibrant Turquoise and London Blue Dylusions Ink Sprays with a Crafter's Workshop snowflake stencil. The colour in the photo isn't true at all, as it's really very Vibrant Turquoise! I glued two tattered doily edges together, then embossed with Frantage Aged Black EP. The sentiment is a stamp by The Artistic Stamper. I finished off with some ribbon coloured with the inks, and a pearly brad.

The challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.
