Butterflies and Bees for AJJ

 Hello All.

I have a final page to share for my Come Fly With Me theme at Art Journal Journey. 

Thank you so much to everyone who has joined in with the challenge with such wonderful art! It's been great to host the challenge this month, thanks to the AJJ team for inviting me back.

This was actually one of my ICADs that I decided to turn into a junk journal page. I painted the lavender with watercolour, added butterflies and bees cut from a magazine. 

To make my page I glued the index card to a dictionary page, then added the bee facts that were cut from the magazine. If you look carefully at the edges of the dictionary page (top left & right), you'll spot that I used the page with the butterfly defination on it.

ICAD Week 8

Hi Everyone.

Here's my second Sunday post with my week 8 ICADs for Daisy Yellow Art's Index Card A Day challenge.

Day 50 - Note to self.

 Day 51 - Topiary.

Day 52 - Weather vane.

Day 53 - Museum.

Day 54 - Yahtzee.

Day 55 - Lemon or lime.

Day 56 - Winter.

There's only a few more days to go, I'll miss this challenge.

I recently created some flower & leaves collage fodder on tissue, using a rigger brush and watered down black acrylic paint, and I used some of these on the first set of collages above.

AJJ - Come Fly With Me

 Hello All.

Here's a Junk Journal page for my Come Fly With Me theme at Art Journal Journey.

I used an image of a juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker. We have one that is regularly visiting our bird feeder along with mum and dad.

ICAD Week 7

 Hi Everyone.

Here are my Icads for week 7 of Daisy Yellow Art's Index Card A Day challenge.

Day 43 - Patina. I used bead gel to create the texture.

Day 44 - Wabi-Sabi. Had to look this one up. Embracing imperfection and the simple things in life, from what I could gather.

Day 45 Repeat. I love dots :-)

Day 46 - Millefleur. I watercolour painted lots of flowers.

Day 47 - Vermillion. Did some torn paper-weaving and used Cadmium Red acrylic for my background.

Day 48 - Raindrops. Inspired by a saying here in the UK. We get a lot of rain!

Day 49 - Focus.

We're getting close to the finishing post. There are some tricky prompts in week 8, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

ICAD Week 6

 Hi Everyone.

I have my week 6 ICADs to share with you today.

Day 36 - Imaginary.

Day 37 - Metallic. I used shimmery and gold watercolour paints.

 Day 38 - Zodiac. I'm not into zodiacs, but gave it a go. They're not quite twins, but close enough :-)

Day 39 - Levels.

Day 40 - Chandelier. I used some transfers for this.

Day 41 - Float or Buoy. Really pleased how my watercolour painting turned out. Forgot to add a shadow, but maybe it's behind :D

Day 42 - Trivia. Newspaper crosswords came in handy for this one.

I think set 2 are my favourites this week, with the navy dots stencilled tissue. I must do some more of that :-)
