Fearless, Independent and Original

Hello Everyone!

I took out my homemade journaling prompt cards today, and using 16 cards, I created this page in my little 7x5inch journal.

I'm linking my page to Art Journal Journey's Colour In My World challenge.

Good evening to you all!

I'm over on the PaperArtsy Blog tonight, sharing a hanging plaque which features PaperArtsy Seth Apter Eclectica stamps and a variety of metallic elements. Here's a little peek, you can see my full project and tutorial HERE.

Wanderlust 2017 - Week 19 - Kate Crane part two

Hi Everyone!

I have another grid page to share, inspired by the second part of Kate Crane's Wanderlust class. This time I had to get my sewing machine out. I rather like this effect - I must try it on some teabags :-)

Kate added a butterfly on her page. I found some sweet butterfly girlies for mine.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Wanderlust 2017 - Week 19 - Kate Crane part one

Hello Everyone!

I'm gradually working my way through Wanderlust, and now I'm up to week 19. Kate Crane's class is a two-parter, so here's my version of her first grid-based piece.

It's all about making time to play :-)

Happy Sunday!

Wanderlust Week 18 - Dyan Reaveley

Happy Friday Everyone!

Here are two pages I made from following Dyan Reaveley's class for Everything Art's Wanderlust online course. Dyan's style is so recognisable, bright and colourful, and I love it!

I've used Dina Wakley, Crafter's Workshop, and Stencil Girl stencils and masks.

Wishing you a fab weekend,

Myself Journal Page

Hi Everyone!

Last weekend, I went up to the Alexandra Palace craft show with my friend Hazel. We were very excited to see French stamp company Carabelle Studio there for the first time, and treated ourselves to a few new stamp sets. I tested my purchases out on a journal page today.

I also used a leftover card that I didn't use in my prompt card set, some teabags, and some drywall tape.

Thanks for visiting,

Another HeArt Journal Page

Hi Everyone!

Today I did a page in my little 7x5" journal, inspired by Kasia's week 17 class on Wanderlust, where she asked us to go small. As I looked back in my journal after I'd finished, I noticed that my last three pages have hearts as the focal point. It surprised me a little. Anyway, here's today's page...

My page started with some splatters of Glimmer Mist, then I added a vanilla chai teabag paper. This smelt very good every time I used my heat gun! I'd had to trim my 'Peace' page to fit into another journal, so I cut up the strips and glued them down. Then I added a cut out heart, and out-lined with blue Gelatos. All wrong, so I removed the heart, then filled in the space with red Gelato and Aged Scarlet Frantage embossing enamel. Much better! I finished with doodles and splatters. The writing reads..."wherever you go, go with all your heart".

Thanks for dropping by,

Peace Art Journal Page

Morning All!

Yesterday, I caught up with Jessica Sporn's class on Everything Art's Wanderlust. Jessica asked us to go deep, and look into our hearts at what matters to us. Peace, my home city London(torn scraps of London A-Z), and tea(bags) feature on my page.

I might have to do something like this on a canvas. Here's a closer look...

Wishing you an artful and happy day!

Emotions Exposed

Hello All!

Not a lot of art has been made this week. Firstly, I've been reading The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith (aka J. K. Rowling). It's a really great yarn, and I thoroughly recommend it, as well as her first RG novel A Cuckoo's Calling. There's a third novel, Career of Evil, which I've got primed and ready. Secondly, my recently returned from uni daughter has been planning her gap year travels, to NZ, OZ, and SE Asia. The thought of her disappearing again, for 8 months, has left me a little low, having just got her back. But she assures me that she's sensible, and it'll be safe travel with friends and like-minded people. So that's the reason for the title of this page I made late last night.

It was the result of 18 of my art prompt cards, mainly to get my mojo back, and take my mind off of other matters. I'm linking up to Art Journal Journey's Colour In My World Challenge.

Happy Friday to you all,

Wanderlust 2017 - Week 10 - Alena Hennessy Class

Hello Everyone! I hope you're enjoying a relaxing Sunday.

I've spent a very enjoyable afternoon, creating this page, inspired by Alena Hennessy's class on Wanderlust. She has a very relaxed approach to intuitive painting, using Bombay Inks, acrylics, gold leaf, glitter and paint pens.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Wanderlust 2017 - Week 7 - Clair Bremner Class

Welcome Everyone!

I signed up for this year's Wanderlust Classes, but I haven't been keeping up very well. Clair Bremner's class was in February! Thankfully, we can download the classes and work at our own pace.

Here is the art journal page I made, inspired by Clair's class...

Happy Saturday!

Art Journal Calendar - September 2017

Hello Everyone!

I've been beavering away this afternoon, making my art journal calendar pages for September.

Art Journal Journey has a new challenge today, set by Yvonne, and the theme is Colour In My World. Has there ever been a theme that so fitted me?! As you know, I love my bright colours. So here's my bright and colourful spread.

To make my page background, I used a 5x3" Gelli Plate, Dylusion's Paint, and PaperArtsy Kim Dellow masks. I filled in some white areas with turquoise paint, seen quite clearly in the bottom righthand corner.

I added punched tags, smudged black pencil outlines, and used PaperArtsy Everything Art and Darkroom Door stamps for the title.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Alison x
