Tree Top Bird

Hi Everyone!

I recently watched a brilliant YouTube video by the talented Giovanna on the GelliArts channel, where she used acrylic inks and re-inkers on her Gelli Plate.

So yesterday, I tried the technique out myself, and today I was inspired to make this art journal page for Erika's In The Air/Sky theme at Art Journal Journey, using pieces of my prints and Dina Wakley stencils.

Hope you're having a happy & creative day,

Alison xox

Fly a Kite

Hi Everyone!

Can you guess what film I saw recently? I didn't think it was as good as the original, but there were some good effects. It inspired an art journal page for Erika's In the Air/Sky theme at Art Journal Journey though :-)

Whilst I'm here, I have a couple of crochet projects that I recently completed, a bright and funky top for my daughter. She'll be home to claim it on my birthday this Friday.

and a commissioned blanket for my nephew. (Demelza Blanket designed by Catherine Bligh)

Hope you're having a lovely sunshiny week,

Starry Starry Night

Hello Folks! I've made another page for Erika's In the Air/Sky theme at Art Journal Journey. Lots of teabag texture again!

After gluing down multiple teabag papers, I used a Prima stencil to add gold acrylic paint stars, then I used a palette knife to apply Seaglass Fresco Acrylic around the three rectangle teabags to highlight them. I also scribbled in the wet paint with the pointy end of my knife. I doodled some stars, stamped and adhered the words, outlined a few of the gold stencilled stars, then flicked gold paint pen all over the page.

I'm also linking my page to Creative Artiste's Mixed Media Challenge 49.

Happy Tuesday!

Butterflies are Flowers

Hello Friends.

I have another page to share with you, that I made for Erika's In the Air/Sky theme at Art Journal Journey.

Lots of teabag texture, three net teapig bags with butterflies, and a butterfly girl on a sparrow's back. A larger butterfly girl, then scrapes of Seaglass Fresco Finish acrylic, and a blotchy hand-written quote by Robert Frost.

Hope you're having a good week,

AJJ - In the Air/Sky

Evening friends. I'm back today with another entry for Erika's In the Air/Sky theme at Art Journal Journey.

I first lay down some collage, including pieces of London A-Z and round teabags. Then I stencilled clouds with my hand-cut stencil from yesterday, and birds & abstract trees with Dina Wakley stencils.

Wishing you a happy and creative week,

May The Fourth Be With You!

Hello friends! I can never resist saying that on this day every year! Hahaha!

Today I have my May art journal calendar spread to share with you.

I used a hand-cut paper stencil with Fresco acrylic paint for the journaling clouds, a PaperArtsy stencil for the title, and a Crafter's Workshop stencil for the butterflies. I finished with gold paint pen splatters.

And I also have my last two pages for Birgit Koopsen's Everything Circles Instagram Challenge to show you...

Day 29 - Collage of book paper, map, underpaper and teabags.

Day 30 - A splishy splashy page with a collaged flower.

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend to my friends here in the UK, and happy weekend to everyone else.
