Seek Gather Create - Week One

 Hello Friends.

I'm joining in with the Seek Gather Create challenge on Instagram. It's a weekly challenge, just for one month, but it usually happens a couple of times a year.

The Week One items to use are...

Something blue, something see-through, a fish and a circle.

I had fun creating my little collage fish :-)

My something see-through is part of the top of an organza bag that yarn comes in when I order it online. The fabric is very light and shimmery, so I'm linking up to Vicki's Keeping it light theme at Art Journal Journey.

There's also some shiny gold shimmering on the light blue circle.

Thanks for dropping by,

Fodder Challenge 2023 - Part One

 Hello Everyone.

Fodder School recently ran a free Fodder Challenge on Instagram, featuring 12 mini classes from the tutors in their up-coming year long class. The year long class is a bit pricey for me, so I love it when they do the freebie 😀

Here is the first installment showing what I created. I only managed 9 of the classes in the time frame, so I picked my favourites.

Day One - Watercolour foliage with Tiffany Sharpe.

Day two - Book cover with gelli-printed collage fodder with added marks, with Barb Smucker.

Day three - Floating quote quartet with Alison Bomber.

Day 5 - Mixed media tokens with Kecia Deveney.

Day 6 - Gelli printed fabric ribbons with Yetunde Rodriguez.

Apologies for the photo heavy post. As you can see, there was quite a variety of amazing projects. Thanks for staying till the end of my post 😀

I'll be back with the rest of the projects tomorrow.

Willa Wanders' Fodder Challenge 2022 - Days 1- 5

 Hi Everyone.

Wendy Solganik's Fodder Challenge started last week, Tuesday I think. Anyway, I'm up to Day 5, so I thought I'd share my projects so far.

Day 1 - Peace Catcher with Lucie Duclos. I gifted this to a friend for her birthday.

Day 2 - Gelli Prints to finished art pieces with Drew Steinbrecher.

Day 3 - The Study of Shapes with Julie Hamilton. There is some fabric on these, the dotty green and black circles and leaves.

Day 4 - Paper Weaving with Rebecca Sower. I stitched it to some watercolour paper. Think I may have to frame it :-)

Day 5 - Luggage Tags with Liz Constable. The tags were dyed and stamped with coffee before I decorated them.

I hope you like these, I'll share some more pieces in a few days time.

Daisy Yellow Index Card A Day Challenge - Week Two

 Hello All.

I know I said I would post these on Mondays, but here they are, just a couple of days late.

Life has been getting in the way of art lately. We just had a tiring but lovely, long weekend at our daughter's new home, the ground floor flat of a Victorian house, helping her to get the garden in a fit shape for a summer of parties and BBQs. It was lovely to visit Bristol finally, she's been living there over two years now. It's a beautiful city, and she loves it.

So here are my week two ICADs.

Day 7 - I actually used the prompt, which was 'ROOT'.

Day 8

Day 9

Day 10

Day 13

I'm enjoying doing some collage art again, hope you enjoy seeing them 😊

Thanks for visiting. I hope to do some visiting of your blogs too.

100 Days of Watercolour - 66-72

 Hello All.

Here are another week of my watercolour artworks for The 100 Day Project. Most of them have had the rock salt treatment.

Day 66 - Carrying on with my botanical doodles

Day 67

Day 68

Day 69 - Thought I'd try a mandala.

Day 70

Day 71 - I used a stencil with watercolour paint on this one. I tried it with a brush at first, which was a disaster, and ended up using a make-up sponge. It was difficult to get much paint on though, as it got sucked into the sponge, but it worked eventually.

Day 72 - Went back to my doodles 😁

Thanks so much for coming to visit today.

100 Days of Watercolour - 45-51

 Hello Everyone.

Yesterday my husband had another visit to the hospital, this time for a neck scan. Fortunately this was clear too, so the doctor thinks that he probably had a mini stroke, and has given him more medication. He'll also have a follow up appointment in a few months. So hopefully he'll take it a bit easier at work and be ok now. 🙏

With everything happening with Graham, I forgot to post my watercolour art for The 100 Day Project yesterday, so here they are. I've managed to pass the halfway mark 😊

Day 45

Day 46

Day 47

Day 48 - you can see the gold watercolour better in the second photo.

Day 49 - I used some shimmery watercolours by Little Rainbow Moon in the next few pieces. There are matt colours too.

Day 50

Day 51

I'm really enjoying doing the abstract pieces, there'll be more next time.

Thanks for visiting,

Alison
