Art Journal Calendar - September 2020

Happy September Everyone!

It's a new month, so I have my September art journal calendar to share with you today.

Over at Art Journal Journey, the very talented Jo from LetsArtJournal is the September host, and she has chosen the fabulous theme of Texture.

On my spread, I created a textured background with teabag papers, then used bubble wrap and Fresco acrylic paint to print some more texture. The journaling tickets were die cut from painted book pages, and after gluing them down, I added texture with the bubble wrap and turquoise Fresco acrylic. The title was die cut from black card.

And here's my August spread all filled out with my daily doings.

Thanks for visiting,

March Art Journal Calendar

Morning Folks!

Here's my mixed media art journal calendar spread for the month ahead.

I collaged lots of painted paper scraps and round teabags for the background, adding scrapes of DecoArt Crackle Paste, and making marks with lego, a paintbrush, an old credit card and DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in teal, green gold and carbon black.

I die-cut tickets for journaling from painted papers, outlining them with a black Posca paint pen, then stamping the numbers. The title was hand-written on painted masking tape.

I used a small round paintbrush and white gesso to create the flower petals, adding a dot of Tango orange PaperArtsy Fresco acrylic, then lightly brushing it out onto the petals. I finished with some splashes of white paint.

Thanks for dropping by,

Christmas Remakes

Morning Folks!

I received a Christmas card order from a friend, and she really liked this one that I made last year, so I made a couple more in different colours for her.

The background is made with Dylusion Spray Inks and a Crafter's Workshop snowflake stencil. I die-cut two Tim Holtz Tattered Doilies, glued them together, and triple embossed with Frantage Aged Gold & Silver EP. The message stamp is by The Artistic Stamper, inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The ribbon was coloured using the same Dylusions inks as the background.

Which is your favourite?

I'm entering my cards in Country View Crafts' Christmas Challenge.

Have a lovely day!

Art Journal Calendar July 2018

Welcome to July everyone! I'm here today, to share my art journal calendar pages for the coming month.

I used my DecoArt Traditions acrylic paints for the first time in a while, a couple of blues and greens, to create a layered and stencilled background. Then I die-cut some tickets from some contrasting gelli-prints. I used various PaperArtsy stamps for my title, and to frame the pages, and I finished with some white highlights and splatters.

Art Journal Journey - Flora Fauna

Hi Everyone! A new challenge has started at Art Journal Journey. Jo from Let's Art Journal has challenged us to use Flora & Fauna on our pages. As it's a new month, I have my May art journal calendar to share with you today...only a day late!

I created a background with my small round Gel Press plate, PaperArtsy paint and masks. The butterflies were stencilled, using the waste from a Sizzix die cut. I used PaperArtsy stamps for the title, then finished with some doodled flowers, marks and splatters.

We've had some good news, my husband has a new job, after being made redundant at the end of March! It's such a relief, and we booked ourselves a holiday to celebrate.

Wishing you a happy new month!

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Week Seven

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I'm into the second half of my Funkie Junkie cards, and here's my version of Linda's Week 7 Tag. I was inspired by the centre piece of Linda's tag.

I used Vibrant Turquoise and London Blue Dylusions Ink Sprays with a Crafter's Workshop snowflake stencil. The colour in the photo isn't true at all, as it's really very Vibrant Turquoise! I glued two tattered doily edges together, then embossed with Frantage Aged Black EP. The sentiment is a stamp by The Artistic Stamper. I finished off with some ribbon coloured with the inks, and a pearly brad.

The challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Week Six

Hello Everyone!

I'm halfway there on The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Challenge, with a card inspired by the colours, polkadots, and snowflakes on Linda's Week Six Tag.

I used Tim Holtz doily and snowflakes dies, a Crafty Individuals sentiment stamp, and Frantage Shabby White EP. The red polkadots were stamped with a Wendy Vecchi stamp and Festive Berries Distress Ink.

The challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Thanks for joining me today,

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Week Two

Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique is hosting her 12 Tags of Christmas challenge again. Here is my card inspired by her Week Two Tag. I was inspired by the colours, techniques, snowflakes and bling on Linda's tag.

I used PaperArtsy Grunge Paste to stencil the snowflakes, then coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The die cut snowflakes and 25 were embossed with Aged Silver Frantage EP.

I'm also linking my card to That's Crafty's Tis The Season challenge.

Have a great weekend!

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Tag One

Morning All!

Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique is doing her annual 12 Tags Challenge. I'm a little late to the party, but here's my version of Linda's Tag One. I was inspired by the deer and woodland scene on Linda's Tag.

I brayered Dylusion's paints for the background, stencilled a snowy hill with Snowflake Fresco Paint, stamped Tim Holtz trees and foliage, embossing the foliage with Frantage Aged Gold. The Sizzix TH deer is painted with DecoArt Burnt Umber. I stamped and embossed a Crafty Individuals sentiment, then finished with a sprinkling of Aged Gold EP.

Happy Wednesday!
