Creative JumpStart Day 16

I have another page for Erika's Favourite Things theme at Art Journal Journey

Tania Ahmed's class for Day 16 of CJS involves gel printing and using book text, two of my favourite things. I also used circles, which are my favourite shape, and scribbly writing.

I really like the words I found, quite appropriate for the time of year. Also, we are still going out at the crack of dawn for our daily walks. The sunrise was lovely this morning, and we saw the sparrow hawk and heron up on the golf course again, which made it even better.

Keep safe and carry on,

Art Journal Journey - Pockets and Tags

Hi Everyone!

I'm excited to tell you that I'm hosting over at Art Journal Journey for the month of August, with the theme of Pockets and Tags

Here's my page for the theme.

I used teabags for my pockets, snipping off the tops, emptying out the tea leaves, and inserting a tiny tag into them.

I decorated the fronts of the teabags with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paint and a PaperArtsy stencil by Sara Naumann, then added a Tim Holtz rub on.

I love these nature themed rub ons.

And here are the little tags. I decorated them with some collage scraps, a mini Prima lace stamp, and some Tim Holtz phrase stickers.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Pocket and Tag themed art journal pages over at Art Journal Journey this month.

More Stitching!

Hi Everyone!

Since I've started stitching on my art, I've been meaning to create another page for Halle's Stitch in Time theme at Art Journal Journey.

I discovered it's quite tricky stitching onto teabags! Just as well I don't like to be too neat!

I used stamps by Prima Finnabair and That's Crafty.

Wishing you all a happy and creative weekend,

thanks for visiting,

AJJ - A Stitch in Time

Hello lovely followers.

I had some messy time today, creating a page for Halle's A Stitch in Time theme at Art Journal Journey.

I made a collage background with teabags, a separated paper doily, and paper lace.

The stitched orange pieces were cut from the top of a bag of guinea pig dried herbs and grasses. I couldn't resist keeping it for Halle's theme!

I swiped some Seaglass PaperArtsy Fresco acrylic over it all, then sketched the flowers with my black Bombay ink dropper, adding some splashes of ink too.

I used a Prima France Papillon stamp for the clock faces, stamped onto an orange painted scrap.

Hope you get some arty time today also!

Thanks for visiting,

Spring Garden

Morning All!

Here's another little spread in my 6x4" art journal for Jo's Hello Springtime theme at Art Journal Journey.

Teabag base, Seaglass PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylic applied with palette knife, background stamps by Prima, and main images by Dina Wakley. The dots were stamped with red Stazon ink, and I used my dip pen and black Bombay India ink for words and marks.

Have a happy and creative day,
I'm off to battle the wet and windy weather for a hair trim.

Hearts and Butterflies

Hello Everyone! I'm back today with another page for Chris' 'Art For Art's Sake' Challenge at Art Journal Journey.

For those of you wondering where the teabags were on my last page, today's one was literally covered with them! I spread some DecoArt Crackle Paste with a palette knife, then stencilled some hearts with a That's Crafty dinky stencil. I adhered a music page hand-cut heart, and a couple of my 365 Something's stencilled teabags with France Papillon butterflies, then I finished with some Tim Holtz rub-ons and painty splatters.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Alison xox

Teabag Art Journal Page

Hi Everyone! Here's a journal page I made a couple of days ago, which started off with the same background as my this page. By the way, thanks for all the lovely comments you left for that page, they were much appreciated.

Another page for Chris' Art For Art's Sake Challenge at Art Journal Journey, with lots of layers of collage, stencilling, stamping, splashes and drips. I used one of my teabags from my 365 Somethings week 26 collection.

Hope you're surviving the Summer heatwave, I've been hiding from it mostly!

Happy weekend,

T Stands for Peppermint Tea, Strawberries, and 365 Somethings Week 21

Hello Everyone! I'm back from another week's holiday, this time we stayed by Lake Bled in Slovenia. We enjoyed lots of lovely hikes of course, and some great weather for it. We'll definitely return there, as it's a beautiful place. And yesterday, my husband started his new job, after being made redundant at the end of March. So he was fortunate and not unemployed for too long thankfully.

As it's Elizabeth's T-Day today, I'm showing my yummy, mid-morning peppermint tea, with some delicious strawberries picked from our garden. Luckily the birds and slugs hadn't got too many whilst we were away! I'll be having them with some greek yoghurt later :-)

I'm a little behind with my 365 Somethings for I Hanna and Daisy Yellow's Instagram challenge, but I've decorated seven teabags for week 21, and there'll be more to follow in the next few days.

I first painted them with white gesso, then added some turquoise acrylic paint with my fingers. Then I printed with green acrylic, using a plastic aida circle. I added washi tape, torn book page, and stamped and painted images by France Papillon and Birgit Koopsen. I finished with some black ink splatters.

Wishing you all a very happy Tuesday T-Day!
