New Babies

Hi Everyone! Sunday past was a momentous day, with two new baby boys born! One to my husband's cousin's daughter, and one to my best friend's daughter. I decided to save time and make two of the same card. Congrats to Philippa, James, Olivia and baby Harvey, and to Kat, Luca and baby Thomas!

The cute baby, bees and flower are from a Studio Stamps set, and the word is from an Art Journey set. I used Distress Inks to watercolour the images.

I'm linking my card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Happy Wednesday!

T is for Butterfly Girl

Hello Everyone! I have an art journal page to share today, created on the front page of a gelli print book I made for myself last night.

I cut out a magazine image and glued it to the page, then altered it with acrylic paint, then added marks and the chit chat phrase sticker.

I'm linking my page to...

And finally, here's a photo of my favourite cuppa (Tetley Tea), and yummy porridge, cashews, brazils, raisins and strawberries, that Hubby and I had for breakfast today, to share with Elizabeth's Tuesday T-Day.

I hope you have better weather than us today. It's poured with rain all day, and now we have thunderstorms.

Holiday, Birthdays and Teabags

Hi Everyone! I'm just back from a lovely week away in the beautiful Peak District near Buxton. The weather was glorious, and we made the most of it with lots of countryside hikes. We also took our fold up bikes and went cycling along the Monsal Trail to Bakewell. We stayed in a lovely little cottage on a working dairy and sheep farm, and I was in my element, as I got to cuddle one of the new lambs!

I celebrated my birthday whilst we were away, which was another glorious day we spent, hiking to, up and along the ridge of Mam Tor. My good friend Hazel has her birthday on the same day as me, and here is a Gelli Print book that I made as a gift for her, and also as a thank you, as she took care of our two tortoises while we were away.

And finally, I have my teabags for week 20 of the 365 Somethings Challenge, to share.

The backgrounds were made with my gelli plate, stencils and acrylic paint. I used Birgit Koopsen stamps from Carabelle Studio for the stamped circles, sewed on some buttons, and finished by using black and white paint pens to add the borders.

Phew! I think that's all! Wishing my American friends a happy Memorial Day, and my British friends a happy Bank Holiday!

Flora, Fauna & Teabags

Hi Everyone!

Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine lately! We've been making the most of it, and getting the garden into better shape than it's been for a good while. I'm not usually much of a gardener, but I'm enjoying the challenge.

First of all, let me show you my teabags for Week 19 of IHanna's 365 Somethings Challenge. This set were Gelli Plate printed, then the Paperdolls were collaged with stamped butterfly wings, black circles and a word sticker.

Next, I have a journal page to share for Jo's Flora & Fauna Challenge at Art Journal Journey.

I started with some collaged pieces of Gelli Plate prints, then scraped a little white thick gesso over. Then I added DecoArt Media Acrylic in Turquoise, then stencilled with Prussian Blue and Titanium White. I added my butterfly girl teabag on a circle of music sheet, and some stamped and painted butterflies (Crafty Individuals), then finished with a phrase sticker and some white paint splatters.

As it's Elizabeth's Tuesday T-Day, here is my cup of Peppermint & Liquorice tea, standing on my untidy computer desk.

I'm off to pull up a few more weeds now,

Queen Bee

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope you're all having a good one! It's our 27th Wedding Anniversary today. We're not doing anything special, but we did toast ourselves with a glass of Pinot Grigio with our salad lunch.

Whilst Hubby's out in the garden clearing and repairing the shed, I created another page for Jo's Flora & Fauna Challenge at Art Journal Journey. I used PaperArtsy Masks and Fresco Finish Chalk Paint, and Dina Wakley Stamps and Scribble Sticks.

I'm off to make a cuppa and offer some help in the garden.

Ta ta for now,

Flora

Hi Everyone! I created another page for Jo's Flora & Fauna Challenge at Art Journal Journey, using only Flora this time, in the shape of one of my button crochet flower teabags.

The leaves and quote are from a Carabelle Studio stamp set by Birgit Koopsen. I collaged my teabag onto a gelli-printed coffee filter paper and some Tim Holtz printed tissue. I finished with splatters and a scribbly edging.

Happy Thursday,

365 Somethings 2018 - Week 18 and AJJ - Flora & Fauna

Hi Everyone! We've just had the most glorious May Bank Holiday here in the UK! We spent it outside, gardening, walking and lunching with friends, and lunching with my parents in our garden. We also met our friends' sweet new Cavalier King Charles puppy Luna. She's so sweet!!! They now have two Cavaliers and a Springer, so I definitely got my dog fix! :-)

I managed to fit in creating my Week 18 set of 365 Somethings. I combined two hobbies in one, and crocheted some tiny button flowers to attached to some stamped teabags.

I got carried away with these flowers, and have a few left over. They will probably appear on a journal page, or they may become brooches. Aren't they so adorable?!

I also made an art journal page for Jo's Flora & Fauna challenge at Art Journal Journey. I spotted a photo of some Irish mountains and sheep in a newspaper, and they were perfect for my page, with added collage circles, paint and stencilled flowers.

I'm off to make some soup now, as I'm trying out the 5/2 diet for the first time, and today will hopefully be a light day. I need to lose the few pounds I gained over the Winter.

Hope you all have a lovely, creative day!

AJJ - Grow

Hello Folks. I created another page today for Jo's Flora & Fauna challenge at Art Journal Journey.

This page had everything thrown at it! Collage, stamping, stencilling with Grunge Paste, teabags, metallic paint, Infusions, and splatters.

Hope you're all having a lovely day! I'm off to vote in the local elections. I often feel that it's a waste of time, as the same party always get elected unfortunately, but as the women's vote was so hard won, I always go anyway.

Art Journal Journey - Flora Fauna

Hi Everyone! A new challenge has started at Art Journal Journey. Jo from Let's Art Journal has challenged us to use Flora & Fauna on our pages. As it's a new month, I have my May art journal calendar to share with you today...only a day late!

I created a background with my small round Gel Press plate, PaperArtsy paint and masks. The butterflies were stencilled, using the waste from a Sizzix die cut. I used PaperArtsy stamps for the title, then finished with some doodled flowers, marks and splatters.

We've had some good news, my husband has a new job, after being made redundant at the end of March! It's such a relief, and we booked ourselves a holiday to celebrate.

Wishing you a happy new month!
