Holiday, Birthdays and Teabags

Hi Everyone! I'm just back from a lovely week away in the beautiful Peak District near Buxton. The weather was glorious, and we made the most of it with lots of countryside hikes. We also took our fold up bikes and went cycling along the Monsal Trail to Bakewell. We stayed in a lovely little cottage on a working dairy and sheep farm, and I was in my element, as I got to cuddle one of the new lambs!

I celebrated my birthday whilst we were away, which was another glorious day we spent, hiking to, up and along the ridge of Mam Tor. My good friend Hazel has her birthday on the same day as me, and here is a Gelli Print book that I made as a gift for her, and also as a thank you, as she took care of our two tortoises while we were away.

And finally, I have my teabags for week 20 of the 365 Somethings Challenge, to share.

The backgrounds were made with my gelli plate, stencils and acrylic paint. I used Birgit Koopsen stamps from Carabelle Studio for the stamped circles, sewed on some buttons, and finished by using black and white paint pens to add the borders.

Phew! I think that's all! Wishing my American friends a happy Memorial Day, and my British friends a happy Bank Holiday!

  1. Happy belated birthday. That sounds like how I like to spend my birthday too! Going away is the BEST present-especially when the weather cooperates. :) I had never heard of a fold up bike, so it is good you included a photo. :) Folding up a bike sounds like a great idea, not just for travel but for storage. And I love your gift. I bet we shall see some beautiful art in it. :) Or at least I hope we do. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

  6. Sounds like you ad the perfect birthday, Alison. So glad you got to spend it doing things you love. Hiking and biking sounds like joy to me.

I can't get over how many ways you find to color and include those round teabags. Once again, they are truly over the top, and I am so in awe of your making these, and making them your own.

Your gelli print book is out of this world. I bet you are glad you had all those extra prints on hand. It made making the book even more special.

Hope your birthday was the best ever!
