Gratitude Junk Journal Day 30

 Hi Everyone!

Today I have my final page from the Gratitude Junk Journal course to show you.

For this last page, we had a Zoom art session with prompts drawn from a jar by Tiare Smith from Embrace Your Art, who ran the course. It was a lot of fun, and so nice to be making art along with the other ladies. It meant a lot to me, as this is something I've missed. Also, thinking about gratitude for the whole of November was very meaningful to me, it's a really good thing to focus on.

I'm linking up to Tracey's The Meaning Of theme at Art Journal Journey. I hope it qualifies, but Tracey did say that it was basically an Anything Goes month as all art has meaning.

Wishing you all a happy and arty weekend,

Alison xox

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 28

 Hi Everyone!

Here's another gratitude junk journal page. The theme was gratitude for our strengths. I didn't list any out, but like everyone, I had to call upon a few of my strengths in the past week. One of them was telling our children that we had decided we couldn't see them at Christmas. Our daughter had suggested a meet up somewhere convenient for us all, for a walk. We'll do a family video call instead, from the comfort of our homes. Fortunately our children can spend Christmas together, so none of us will be alone.

I'm linking up to Tracey's 'The Meaning Of' theme at Art Journal Journey.

Keep safe and well,

Gratititude Junk Journal Day 27

 Hi Everyone!

It's the final day of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and I've so enjoyed seeing everyone's creativity this past month.

Today I'm sharing another gratitude junk journal page, a two page spread in fact. I'm linking this to the final day of Wendy's Birds theme at Art Journal Journey.

I ripped up some pretty bird-themed patterned papers and collaged them on my pages. Then I brayered on a light layer of Seaglass Fresco acrylic, and stamped a few bird images with teal Stazon ink. I created the grass with Hyde Park Fresco acrylic, and used a piece of corrugated card to apply it. I drew the birds, cut them out, and added details with coloured paint pens, stamped my title and a circles border.

Wishing you all a very happy Advent, and new week ahead.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 23

 Happy weekend everyone!

It's Day 28 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and here's another of my Gratitude Junk Journal pages, with the theme of Gratitude For Pets.

I featured Angus, one of my sweet rescue guinea pigs. He was my first rescue, and he's such a cutie! He rescued me too, at a time when I was feeling very low, having just had my autoimmune hepatitis diagnosis.

I hope your weekend is going well. Thanks for dropping by.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 22

 Hi Everyone!

It's Day 27 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and today I've got another art journal page to share with you.

The theme for this page was gratitude for aspects of my personality.

I played with watercolour again on this page, and made marks with acrylic ink and a chopstick.

Thanks for visiting,

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 21

 Hi Everyone!

It's Day 26 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and I have another Gratitude Junk Journal page to share.

Day 21's prompt was Gratitude for our favourite food. I chose cheese on toast. Now that I'm dairy free, I really miss cheddar cheese melted on toast, but I have found quite a nice vegan hard cheese alternative, which is coconut based, by Koko.

Thanks for visiting me here today.

I hope you're all having a happy, safe and creative week.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 13

It's Day 16 of Leah's Art Every Day Month, and today I'm sharing my Gratitude Junk Journal page Day 13, a class with Shemi Dixon which was titled Gratitude For Our Bodies.

We started by writing down all our negative thoughts about our bodies, then covered most of this up with collage and paint.

We finished by adding what we love about our bodies, it was a great exercise. I never thought I'd say I loved my scars and stretch marks, but because they are marks of such happy events, I love them.

Wishing you a happy and creative new week,

Thanks for dropping by,

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 11

It's day 14 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and today I'm sharing my art journal page for day 11 of Gratitude Junk Journal.

This class was titled Gratitude For Coffee with Nicole Watson, and we used a lot of coffee amongst other things on our pages. I decided to create some cardboard leaves and my page title is Grateful For Autumn.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 8 - A Quote of Gratitude

Hello folks!

I have an art journal spread to share today for Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge Day 11. It's a spread I made for the Gratitude Junk Journal course, with a gratitude quote.

I started with a background of teabag papers, scraped some Seaglass Fresco acrylic across to pick up the textures, then painted my tree with DecoArt burnt umber. I added some hanging hearts and a quote, then finished with red paint splatters. I sanded the tree lightly to bring out some texture also.

Here's a closer look at the textures and quote.

You can see what everyone else has been doing at AEDM HERE.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 7

 Hi Everyone!

Day 7's prompt at the Gratitude Junk Journal course is something that made you laugh or smile this week. I attempted to paint someone laughing! Hahaha! She could be laughing or crying, or both!

This is my entry for Day 8 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 6

 Hi everyone!

Day 6 of Gratitude Junk Journal was a class with Tiffany Goff Smith aka Southern Gals Designs. Here's my morning happiness page. The peace and quiet of the early morning, watching the birds in the garden.

I'm linking up to Leah's Art Every Day Month Day 7.

Gratitude Junk Journal - Days 3 and 4

Hello! I'm back with another post today. This one is for Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge Day 5.

Day 3 of Gratitude Junk Journal class was to take inspiration from flowers and a quote by Henry Ward Beecher.

I'm also linking this spread to Wendy's Birds theme at Art Journal Journey.

Day 4 of Gratitude Junk Journal was a tutorial by Finnish artist Paivi Aerola, who uses music as her inspiration. I don't usually listen to music whilst creating, but I gave it a go, and I actually quite enjoyed the process.

That's all for today! Keep safe everyone!
