Flora, Fauna & Teabags

Hi Everyone!

Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine lately! We've been making the most of it, and getting the garden into better shape than it's been for a good while. I'm not usually much of a gardener, but I'm enjoying the challenge.

First of all, let me show you my teabags for Week 19 of IHanna's 365 Somethings Challenge. This set were Gelli Plate printed, then the Paperdolls were collaged with stamped butterfly wings, black circles and a word sticker.

Next, I have a journal page to share for Jo's Flora & Fauna Challenge at Art Journal Journey.

I started with some collaged pieces of Gelli Plate prints, then scraped a little white thick gesso over. Then I added DecoArt Media Acrylic in Turquoise, then stencilled with Prussian Blue and Titanium White. I added my butterfly girl teabag on a circle of music sheet, and some stamped and painted butterflies (Crafty Individuals), then finished with a phrase sticker and some white paint splatters.

As it's Elizabeth's Tuesday T-Day, here is my cup of Peppermint & Liquorice tea, standing on my untidy computer desk.

I'm off to pull up a few more weeds now,

Alison xox

  1. Lol ...I'm not much of a gardener either and your gardening experience sounds like mine, I spent most of yesterday weeding and tidying our garden borders 😁. Your winged paper doll teabags are adorable and I love the one you used on your page too! As you know blue is my favourite colour so this page is perfect with the touches of orange, pretty flowers and beautiful butterflies! It's lovely to see you at Art Journal Journey again and wishing you a very Happy T Day too! J 😊 x

  2. I am always impressed with the newest way you create your weekly teabags for 365 somethings. It always amazes me at the clever new ways you come up with to decorate these beauties. The tiny paper dolls are the perfect size for these, aren't they?

Then I noticed you carried the concept to your journal page, too. Beautiful butterflies add so much interest to this page, as do the flowers. They are the perfect addition to Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey, and I'm thrilled you added the link, too.

I admit I've never heard of peppermint & liquorice tea before, but I love liquorice, so I know I would like this. Thanks for sharing your teabags, your art journal page, and your tea with us for T this Tuesday. I don't envy you the weed pulling, though!

  4. Not familiar with 365 Somethings but I sure like your winged paper dolls. I like them on both the teabags and the journal page. I think I'll skip pulling weeks and go to my knitting group this morning instead. I like to LOOK at gardens as long as someone else creates them.

  12. Love your paper doll art, Alison.

I can't even tell that your computer desk is untidy because you (wisely) zoomed in close. In the one I shared for today's T-party, I only noticed the used toothpick and my daily pill box later - lol. Pretty tea cup.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  17. Have fun in the garden - I am like you not usually much of a gardener but since I have this garden for 7 years now I have learned to love the work outside and that every plant is a personality...and that makes gardening a kind of nice hobby now for me as well.I am really impressed with this week's teabags Alison - simply fantastic even though they are each week simply fantastic -lol!But these are GORGEOUS! And those genius page?! I am in awe of it - and you make me so so happy to link it to Jo's lovely theme!
I so like this peppermint-licorice tea ever since a U.K.blog friend sent it to me,here they don't sell this flavour. I am just now in LOVE with a Lavendar Verbena Rose tea... I try out nearly every sort of tea I can find at our local stores. And there are so many delicious variations! Tea is just WONDERFUL!
Happy rest of your week and good weather for working in and enjoying the garden!
    Hugs, Susi
