Hello All.
I have my July art journal calendar to share with you today. As it has butterflies on it, I'm linking it up to my Come Fly With Me theme at Art Journal Journey.
I cut a load of butterflies from a paper napkin, then used gel medium to adhere them to my pages. I then glued some teabag papers over the top for a faded antique look. I decided to glue extra butterflies around the edges that would stand out more.
My journaling circles were punched from a gessoed music sheet, I added numbers and outlines with a black gel pen. I used Darkroom Door Alpha stamps for my title, stamped onto the edge of a music sheet and outlined with black pen. I finished with some black ink splatters, and outlined the whole spread with black pen.
Here's my completed June calendar pages.
Thanks for visiting, hope you have a wonderful July.
Alison

Cool calendar Alison. I like the vintage feel and all those butterflies. Hope it was a nice weekend! hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGlad you explained your background process, I see now, it added definition and depth to put more butterflies. Boatload of fussy cutting for sure. A great start for your journaling month. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly background is amazing. You put a LOT of work into that background. I would never have guessed the butterflies were from a napkin, but I love how you softened them with tea bags. Nice circles for individual days, too. Your calendar pages always put mine to shame. I love how these butterflies match your theme at AJJ, too. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the finished one from last month - you look so busy! The butterflies for this month are wonderful - such a happy looking month!!! Hugz
