Joy

Happy Easter Saturday Everyone!

There's still some joy to be had, despite all the doom and gloom. Sitting in my garden every morning, listening to the birds almost drowning out the distant motorway traffic, brings me a lot of joy.

And a new technique to me, using a pipette to mix water into acrylic paint, then dropping it from a height to create splatters, gave me a lot of joy. Here's another page for Valerie's Geometric Shapes theme at Art Journal Journey.

I've only one more blank page left in my Dina Wakley art journal, and you can see how the ink dripped down that steep slope. Lol!

Wishing you joy,

Alison xox

  1. Gorgeous page Alison, dripping and splashing is always something that is pure fun. And that's something we all need just now. Love the colours, too. My kitchen cabinets all show proof of my love of splattering paint! Thanks for linking o us at AJJ, much appreciated. Have a lovely Easter weekend, I wish you Easter joy and blessings. Hugs, Valerie

  3. I can just imagine the fun you had creating this one Alison, outdoor play with paint is always fun. That vibrant orange is so energising. I hear you regarding the birdsong, it's so nice not to hear the constant sound of air traffic for me. Enjoy those quiet moments & the thought of creating that last journal page.. hope you have a new one just waiting to be started?
Wishing you a Happy & Safe Easter Tracey xx

  5. I have a pipette, but never thought of doing that. You certainly have a great deal of control over the pipette. For a first time, I'd say you did a fabulous job. Also, thanks for sharing this beautiful, colorful, and splashy page with us at Art Journal Journey using Valerie's theme. Have a lovely Easter Sunday, dear friend.

  6. How funny - I got a bunch of pipettes just recently - I think with the intention of using them with alcohol ink, but this looks fun too! Fabulous splotches of colour and the scribbly flower is wonderful. And yes, isn't birdsong so much better than traffic?! I'll be back for some proper catching up soon. Stay safe, stay well, and happy Easter.
