I'm here today to share an art journal page for Elizabeth The Altered Book Lover's T-Day. As April is the month that Elizabeth celebrates her Bearthday on Earthday, I have used some re-cycled teabags and magazine images on my page.
I started with a layer of torn book, map, and music pages, before adhering the teabags and labels. I cut the teacup and teapot from a magazine, and finished with a Tim Holtz phrase sticker and stamped quote.

Fabulous journal page, Alison. It makes me wish I could appreciate tea. I love all the layers of recycled tea paraphernalia and the yellow-purple color scheme, which makes me think spring.

ReplyDeleteI've been told I was born a generation too late, so not sure if you like old "classic rock," but I wonder if you caught the subtle reference to a line in Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit. I thought of it as I was finishing the post. Regardless, this turned out amazingly brilliant, dear friend and I am eternally grateful you invited us to T this Tuesday.
This is a fantastic page. I love how the tea bags make cool circles, how the tea bag tags almost give woven effect, and those cool Egyptian teapot and cup. You should link this to AJJ s you definitely have some geometric shapes. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

ReplyDeleteWhat a great page Alison! It's perfect for T-Day and the whole recycling thing. I haven't come across Twynings Sleep tea, but I will look out for it next time i'm in Britain. We do like our cup of something before we go to bed.
