Gratititude Junk Journal Day 27

 Hi Everyone!

It's the final day of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and I've so enjoyed seeing everyone's creativity this past month.

Today I'm sharing another gratitude junk journal page, a two page spread in fact. I'm linking this to the final day of Wendy's Birds theme at Art Journal Journey.

I ripped up some pretty bird-themed patterned papers and collaged them on my pages. Then I brayered on a light layer of Seaglass Fresco acrylic, and stamped a few bird images with teal Stazon ink. I created the grass with Hyde Park Fresco acrylic, and used a piece of corrugated card to apply it. I drew the birds, cut them out, and added details with coloured paint pens, stamped my title and a circles border.

Wishing you all a very happy Advent, and new week ahead.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 23

 Happy weekend everyone!

It's Day 28 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and here's another of my Gratitude Junk Journal pages, with the theme of Gratitude For Pets.

I featured Angus, one of my sweet rescue guinea pigs. He was my first rescue, and he's such a cutie! He rescued me too, at a time when I was feeling very low, having just had my autoimmune hepatitis diagnosis.

I hope your weekend is going well. Thanks for dropping by.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 22

 Hi Everyone!

It's Day 27 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and today I've got another art journal page to share with you.

The theme for this page was gratitude for aspects of my personality.

I played with watercolour again on this page, and made marks with acrylic ink and a chopstick.

Thanks for visiting,

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 21

 Hi Everyone!

It's Day 26 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and I have another Gratitude Junk Journal page to share.

Day 21's prompt was Gratitude for our favourite food. I chose cheese on toast. Now that I'm dairy free, I really miss cheddar cheese melted on toast, but I have found quite a nice vegan hard cheese alternative, which is coconut based, by Koko.

Thanks for visiting me here today.

I hope you're all having a happy, safe and creative week.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 20

 Hi Everyone!

I'm a bit stressed today. Instagram and Facebook have suddenly decided that I'm a bit risky. Instagram isn't allowing me to like or comment on posts, or even write anything on my own posts, and Facebook won't let me link my blog. I'm wondering if it's my name Craftytrog. I'd hate to have to change it, as it's what a lot of my followers know me as. I've sent reports to IG and FB, and hopefully it will be sorted soon. It's just so frustrating!

Anyway, back to the art. It's Day 25 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and today I have my day 20 Gratitude Junk Journal page to share.

This was a class with Jackie Jimerson titled 'Gratitude for a bowl of fruit'.

I really enjoyed the techniques Jackie showed us, the background in particular. The pieces of fruit were painted with watercolour, before being cut out and glued in place, and the bowl was stencilled with acrylic paint, then cut out and adhered.

I hope you're all safe and well, and thanks for visiting.

323 and 327 are my favourites this week. How about you?

I hope you are keeping safe and well.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 19

It's Day 23 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and today I'm sharing my gratitude junk journal page day 19.

We had an image and quote inspiration for this page.

I really love the quote, it's so true. I kept the page fairly simple as I wanted the quote to take centre stage.

Wishing you all a wonderful new week ahead,

Alison xox

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 17

It's Day 21 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and today I have my Day 17 page for Gratitude Junk Journal to show you.

The prompt was Gratitude for beauty that you see around you. I decided to focus on the beautiful Autumn scenery and toadstools that I see on my morning walks. I used watercolours, Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks, Stabilo Woody pencils, Crafty Individuals stamps, and paint pens to create my spread.

As you can see, it all got a bit crazy and splattered.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 16

It's Day 20 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and I have another Gratitude Junk Journal page to share. Actually I created two pages for Birgit Koopsen's Gratitude For Colour class. It was such a fun technique!

The very brightly coloured backgrounds were created using Distress Ink Re-Inkers. It had been a long while since I used those!

I added some birds to this next page, so I'm linking it to Wendy's Birds theme at Art Journal Journey.

If you're wondering where my wording came from, it's from a fabulous free downloadable sheet from the lovely Autumn of SewPaperPaint, that you can find HERE. Why not leave her a comment and let her know that I sent you over.

Wishing you all a wonderful and safe weekend,

Alison xox

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 15

It's day 19 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and today I have my day 15 Gratitude Junk Journal page to show you. For this the prompt was a reason for gratitude - reading a passage in a book, a poem or quote that expresses exactly how you feel. I chose a Vincent Van Gogh quote.

It's Day 18 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and today I have my weekly index card collages to show you. It's week 46 of 366 Somethings, so Christmas must be getting awfully close!

I think 322 is my favourite this week, but the butterflies on 316 make it a close second. Do you have a favourite one?

Thanks very much for visiting and commenting, I really appreciate it.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 13

It's Day 16 of Leah's Art Every Day Month, and today I'm sharing my Gratitude Junk Journal page Day 13, a class with Shemi Dixon which was titled Gratitude For Our Bodies.

We started by writing down all our negative thoughts about our bodies, then covered most of this up with collage and paint.

We finished by adding what we love about our bodies, it was a great exercise. I never thought I'd say I loved my scars and stretch marks, but because they are marks of such happy events, I love them.

Wishing you a happy and creative new week,

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 12

It's Day 15 of Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge, and today I have my art journal page for day 12 of Gratitude Junk Journal. The prompt for this one was gratitude for where we live.

We were asked to use some techniques from lessons in the previous week. I went abstract.

I hope you're having a good weekend,

It's day 14 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and today I'm sharing my art journal page for day 11 of Gratitude Junk Journal.

This class was titled Gratitude For Coffee with Nicole Watson, and we used a lot of coffee amongst other things on our pages. I decided to create some cardboard leaves and my page title is Grateful For Autumn.

Gratitude Junk Journal - Day 10

 Hi Everyone!

It's Day 13 of Leah's Art Every Day Month, and to confuse matters I have my Day 10 Gratitude Junk Journal page to share with you 😊

For this page, we were asked what we would love best to do if we had an afternoon for ourselves. I decided I'd go for a country hike and do some birdwatching. I used some gel printed papers to create the hills and the sun. I'm really happy with how my walking boot turned out, as I wasn't that confident to start with.

I'm also linking up to Wendy's Birds theme over at Art Journal Journey.

Thanks for dropping by today!

Gratitude Junk Journal - Day 9 - Thankful for Curiosity

 Hi Everyone!

On day 9 of the Gratitude Junk Journal course, we had a class with Karla Archer. We used the theme of curiosity to create an abstract journal spread. I rarely have much of a plan when I start an abstract page, and I'm always curious to see where it takes me.

I'm linking this journal spread to Leah's Art Every Day Month Day 12.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 8 - A Quote of Gratitude

Hello folks!

I have an art journal spread to share today for Leah's Art Every Day Month Challenge Day 11. It's a spread I made for the Gratitude Junk Journal course, with a gratitude quote.

I started with a background of teabag papers, scraped some Seaglass Fresco acrylic across to pick up the textures, then painted my tree with DecoArt burnt umber. I added some hanging hearts and a quote, then finished with red paint splatters. I sanded the tree lightly to bring out some texture also.

Here's a closer look at the textures and quote.

You can see what everyone else has been doing at AEDM HERE.

Today I'm sharing my collaged index cards for week 45 of 366 Somethings. I'm also linking these to Leah's Art Every Day Month Day 10.

Do you have a favourite this week? I really like the last one 315, with its neutral tones, splash of blue, and textures. I hope you enjoy reading the found text too, they're from various books.
