Scrappy September Scavenger 13 - 15

 Hello Everyone.

I have 3 more pages to share today, for the Scrappy September Scavenger Challenge on Instagram.

Day 13 - Tan, Vellum, A bird sticker, Paisley

Bonus Item - A hand print

Used some items here that I've had in my stash a very long time! Vellum, stickers and Scrabble tiles. That's one of the great things about this challenge :-)

Day 14 - Red, Square, Comic book page, Puzzle piece

Bonus Item - Old leaf

I found the cartoons in a newspaper destined for the guinea pig cage :D The puzzle pieces are a vintage style stamp from a PaperArtsy set, as is the crossword stamp. I found the dried leaves on some neglected houseplants. I had to iron them a bit flatter. Lol!

I'm linking up to Wendy's Vintage theme at Art Journal Journey, and Country View Craft's The Leaves Begin To Fall Challenge.

Day 15 - White, Window envelope, Avocado dyed paper, Flower

Bonus Item - Embroidery thread

Luckily Hubby likes avocado, and there was an empty half and a stone handy, so I boiled them for about 90 minutes, then dyed some book and music pages. I'll be doing this again! I used embroidery thread to stitch the crosses onto the dyed book page scrap.

Halfway point of the challenge 😊😊😊

Thanks so much for visiting, and for all your lovely comments.

  1. I swear this challenge was made just for you, Alison. All three of these are great. Loved the scrabble tiles and hand print for Day 13, the puzzle pieces and corrugated cardboard in Day 14's entry, and the security envelope and dyed paper for Day 15. That dyed avocado paper is subtle, but effective. Every time I dye avocados, I'm amazed at the pink that comes out. Of course, I had to laugh that you ironed your leaves. I also only iron craft projects, never clothing (grin). Nicely done for Wendy's theme at Art Journal Journey with the puzzle pieces, too.

  3. Never heard of boiling an avocado stone before - now that is a good excuse to get one (only me eats them). Your comic strip reminds me I got a comic book page given which was very old - now where did I put it? I hope I saved it for collage times.
Going great guns with all these challenges Alison - well done on them all.

  6. I'd have been in my element with this challenge Alison and you certainly are too. I'm happy to see so many lost, found and unforgotten scraps made to good use. I like the matched red frame around the cardinal and well salvaged with the comic strip but i'm smiling most about the last, the words really made me laugh... that'll be my Mom on her Birthday this weekend.
Happy creative days Hugs Tracey xx

  9. All are so different and full of very fun details. I love the scrabble tiles and puzzle pieces but did you say you boiled a leftover avacado and a stone to die the pages on the last one? Now that is totally interesting and makes me want to try it. Great challenge pieces. You are so creative!
