Random Words

Here is today's page For Kasia's Advent Calendar Challenge. The theme is Random Words, and Kasia asked us to tear a page from an old book, circle some words that we liked and that meant something to us, then paint around them.

I added some marks and splatter.

I was influenced by these dark times.

I'm linking this page to Yvonne's Words and Numbers theme at Art Journal Journey, as she and Elizabeth have invited me to do so.

Blessings,

Alison xx

  1. Dark times indeed! I still can't believe how stupid so many people must be to vote this way! Gorgeous page Alison. Hugs, Valerie

  2. This is very powerful. We as people, that still have intelligence, morals and a sense of what is really going on have to stand up in anyway we can to keep our country free. We have lost so much in the past three years that isn't on the news or that the GOP will tell us about. Art expresses truth.

  6. This was a powerful journal page, Alison. I think you showed the dark times in your lovely journal entry. The hearts show love that seems to be missing in both our countries right now. Thanks for also sharing this with us using Yvonne's theme at Art Journal Journey.

I got to thinking about your situation. I wonder if it's similar to the 2016 election in the states. Nobody liked either candidate, so they held their noses and voted for the one least likely to upset the apple cart. I fear the apple cart is already upset now in both our countries. As I said before, I don't understand Brexit, but from what I can tell, your country has now voted twice to leave the EU and go out on your own. The only thing I KNOW is, your country never adopted the Euro, so your pound should still be strong.
