366 Somethings - Week 39

 Hi Everyone!

We had a great start today on our early morning walk. Well I did, as Hubby didn't have his glasses on. I saw some rabbits, one of which was close up, just the other side of a hedge in the lane. Then a deer ran across in front of us on the golf course. And to top it off, a huge flock of Canadian geese had stopped off by the lake on their way south. It was wonderful to see them taking off to continue on their journey.

Back to the art. I have another round of my collaged index cards to share with you today, and here they are. Teabag papers on every one this week!

I'm finding it hard to pick a favourite today. I love the dotty circles on 268, the heart on 269, the die-cut letter and number waste on 270 and 272, and the circles and squares and colours on 273! How about you?

Have a happy and creative week,

Alison xox

Art Journal Journey - Texture

Hi everyone! I have another page to share for Jo's Texture theme at Art Journal Journey

I used some old book pages and teabags for my base then lots of acrylic paint and marks, and a few pieces of washi tape. The large circle is a round teabag. Here's a closer shot. I wrote the words 'I am strong' repeatedly around the circles.

Tamara Laporte of Willowing Arts is holding free 2 week taster art sessions for her Lifebook 2021 course, starting on Monday, and this page was a warm up session for those.

I hope you're having a great weekend, thanks for visiting,

Alison xx

Art Journey Challenge - Resist

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I joined in with the Art Journey Design Team Challenge, but I came upon it by chance and thought I'd give Corinne's Resist theme a go.

I began by clear embossing the text block from Art Journey Umbrella Girl stamp set. I then used PaperArtsy Infusions A Bit Jaded to add some colour. The embossed text resisted the colour. I stamped the umbrella girl, cut her out and glued her in place, then stamped the Dreams phrase from AJ Noel stamp set beneath her. I finished with some scribbly black pen lines around the edges, then attached to a kraft card blank.

366 Somethings - Week 38

Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a good week. The nights are really drawing in here now, and I'm not looking forward to putting my clocks back. One advantage is that it will be light again when we go out for our walks at 6am for a while.

I have another week of collaged index cards to share with you today.

Do you have a favourite this week? I think 266 is mine, with those gorgeous strips of painty paper towel, and all those circles.

Thanks for dropping by,

Alison xox

366 Somethings 2020 - Week 37

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all having a good week.

Here are my daily collaged index cards for this past week.

It's hard to pick a favourite this week, but I think it has to be 258, or maybe 255. What do you think?

Keep safe and well,

Gelliplate Play

Here are the results of some Gelliplate play I had with the colours I used on yesterday's art journal page. I used some PaperArtsy stamps and mark making tools with Arteza acrylic paints prussian blue, red orange, oxide yellow and titanium white.

I made 18 6x4" prints, and a couple of ghost prints to clean the plate. I love this ghost print below. It looks even better in real life.

Wishing you a happy and creative new week.

Art Journal Journey - Texture

 Hi Everyone!

Here's another page for Jo's Texture Theme at Art Journal Journey.

I began with layers of old book page scraps texture, then used my finger to apply my new favourite colour combination of acrylic paint - Prussian Blue, Orange Red, Oxide Yellow, and Titanium White.

I added some lines, using a piece of corrugated card to print with the Prussian Blue paint, and scraped some texture paste through a PaperArtsy number stencil. I highlighted the numbers with the blue paint. I used a small lid and white acrylic to add some white circles, then added splashes of white paint.

I finished by adding a Tim Holtz PaperDoll image and some found book text, and outlined them with a black Stabilo pencil.

Do you think Frances is on the lookout for a rich boyfriend at the dance?!

I'm also linking up my page to Country View Crafts Complimentary Colours Challenge.

Thanks for dropping by, I hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Freedom Is A Choice

 Hi Everyone!

I have another page for Jo's Texture theme at Art Journal Journey.

I'm not sure where the title came from, it just popped into my head. I wrote the word Freedom on my page, as it was how I felt when I was creating it, so maybe we sometimes allow ourselves to be free as we create. Does that make sense? Anyway, I had a lot of fun gluing down all that collage texture.

 Happy Friday to you all,

Alison xx

Texture and Other Stuff

Hi Everyone!

I have another page to share for Jo's Texture theme at Art Journal Journey.

This page started with some gesso and leftover paint, then I added some collage materials, book page scraps, teabags, paper coasters, and die-cut leftovers. Then I just went crazy, scraping red and blue paint and white gesso over it, stamping lime paint with giant Lego, drawing circles with drawing ink, and dripping :-) I tore some lime painted book page circles, adding them to the ink circles, painted red hearts, and finished with some scribble writing and black ink splashes.

Now for the other stuff. Some photos from our early morning walk. We saw lots of Canadian geese on the golf course lake on Monday. I love the mist rising off the lake!

A beautiful sunflower growing in our garden.

And especially for Neet, a photo of my guinea pigs, Angus on the left and Elliott on the right, enjoying some grass. Elliott's the cheeky youngster at 18 months, and Angus his long-suffering 4 year old chum. They get on quite well really, bless them, and they're actually the same size, although Angus looks a lot smaller in the photo.

366 Somethings - Week 36

Hi Everyone!

Another week has passed, and I have seven more collaged index cards to share with you today.

I wonder if you have a favourite this week. I love the chaos and colour scheme of 246, oranges, blues, red, and the brown teabag papers; and I like the calmness and simplicity of 251.

I hope you are having a good week.

Art Journal Page - Joy

Hi Everyone! Here's another 5 minute page, and as it has a lot of painty texture, I'm linking it to Jo's Texture theme at Art Journal Journey.

I used an old credit card to scrape the blue and lime acrylic paint on my page, then used the edge of the card to add the textured lines. I used a cork and red acrylic paint to print the circles, then painted the word 'Joy', and finished with some red and white paint splatters.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend,

Alison xox

AJJ - More Texture

Happy Friday Everyone!

I have another journal page to share for Jo's Texture theme at Art Journal Journey.

It started off as a 5 minute page for Southern Gal's Instagram Challenge.

Then I added some texture paste stencilling with a PaperArtsy stencil. I pressed a plastic cross-stitch circle into the paste to add more texture, then added a wash of dark blue acrylic over the top. I rubbed a little chalk acrylic over the stencilling to highlight the texture paste, then finished with some book page words and a few orange paint pen marks.

Here's a closer look at the words and texture.

Thanks so much for visiting,

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Alison xox

Art Journal Journey - Texture

Hello lovely followers! I have another 5 minute page to share with you today.

This page has a lot of collage texture on it, plus some bubble wrap printing with acrylic paint, and I drew some abstract leafy vines with a black india ink dropper. I'm entering this page for Jo's Texture theme at Art Journal Journey.

366 Somethings - Week 35

Hello lovely people! I'm back today with another week of index card collages for the 366 Somethings Challenge.

Do you have a favourite this week? I love seeing which ones you choose :-)

I rather like 239 with those hearts, and the random words seem to fit well too. And I love my little bird, drawn with a black india ink dropper, which is something I love to do for its messiness ;-)

Hope you're having a good week, and thanks for dropping by.
