Two Cards and An Ugly Page

Hello Folks. It's been another dark and gloomy day, and raining so I couldn't escape from the noisy decorator! I did make a journal page, although I think it turned out a bit ugly. It started off ok, some collaged scraps of book pages, and a layer of red Dylusions paint.

I painted over with turquoise, and sketched some circles, revealing the red paint beneath.

Then I got carried away, adding book page circles, doodling, splatters, drips and quotes. It was getting dark, and I was disillusioned, so the drips were still wet when I took the final photo.

Not all arty adventures turn out as you'd like! Nevertheless, I'm linking my page to Art Journal Journey.

I have some male birthdays coming up, so here are a couple of cards I made too, using a mini hexagon Gel Press Plate and PaperArtsy stamps. I was inspired by Cat Kerr's video on YouTube.

Until next time...

Alison x

  3. I hate it when you add a stage to a page and think ...oh no, I want to un-do that!! (been there, done that!) However, I think it looks fine. Love the cards, too.

  4. I am in awe of your "NOT" lovely art journal page. I am truly impressed. It is a beautiful entry for Art Journal Journey, and I think you are too hard on yourself. I like the drips, the book circles, the background, everything!

I'm not a card maker, so those are truly fabulous. I've never seen that specific Gelly plate, but I like how you incorporated it, because your cards truly DO have a male flair.

Thanks for sharing your latest art journal page with us at Art Journal Journey, dear Alison.

  9. Not all arty adventures turn out as you'd like - but others like them! And it is good to make experiences and having fun while making them. I like the black lines over the quote, they bring life to the page.

  12. Your abstract page is so bright and colourful, what's not to like 😁. I always find white gesso is my best friend when it comes to pages that don't turn out to my liking ...lol 😉. Such fabulous cards too! Wishing you a happy weekend and I hope the dining room is progressing well! J 😊
