Crazy Life Adventures

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday was a crazy day. First we learned that Carillion, the company my husband works for, went into liquidation. 😟  Then some great and exciting news, as I sold my first item, a crochet scarf, on Etsy. 😃  Then I discovered we had no heating or hot water when I went to wash my paintbrushes, as the boiler had packed up! 😨  At least it was fixable! Not sure what's going to happen with Graham's job, we're playing the waiting game!

Thank goodness I have art to take my mind off things. I used my art prompt cards to make this page.

I'm linking my page to the Art Journal Journey January Challenge,  New Year, New Adventures, and The Altered Booklover's Happy T-Day, as I used teabags. Might be resorting to some alcohol in my tea to warm me up, if the boiler doesn't get fixed today!

Hope you're having a good week so far,

Alison x

  1. Alison, I feel for you. I always worry about those things that cost more than I can afford, so I hope the repairs are manageable. This could not be a worse time for you and your husband. It is good you have art to help you destress. And being able to sell your first item on Etsy must be a wonderful experience.

I adore your beautiful entry, and was simply delighted to see you had joined us for T this Tuesday. I love what you do with tea bags. Your use of them is always so very clever. Of course, being able to share them with Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey is a wonderful bonus, too. So very glad you could join us again this Tuesday for both T and Art Journal Journey. Try to stay warm today.

  2. Wow, that was quite the day Alison. Hope all works out with the hubby's job. I've been there and I know how stressful it can be. But I also know you do get through it. But that doesn't stop you from stressing. Congrats on the Etsy sale. :) This page is great. I love all the white spots and the big flower makes me think of spring. :) Yup, thank goodness for art...it is a life saver. Thanks for joining us at AJJ again. Hugs-Erika

  10. Oh dear! How awful! A broken boiler is no joke. I hope you can get it fixed, as getting a new boiler when your hubby just lost his job is going to hack into your finances.
Your hubby is Graham! So is mine. It is not a popular name nowadays and I don't know many Grahams really.
Congratulations on selling your item on Etsy. How exciting!
Your art page is beautiful. A lovely shade of blue. I hope you are not feeling too blue....
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  11. Every time I throw away a tea bag I think of how artists like you use them and how wasteful I'm being. Ah, well, we can't all be so creative :) I love what you accomplished in this piece. Happy T Tuesday

  18. Sorry to be so late getting around, Alison. We’ve had terrible & intermittant internet for a couple of days – often less than 1 megabyte download!

Oh my what a day of extremes you had! I hope evrythign works out for the best as far as your husband's job goes, but I know how traumatic and scary such news is. Sending positive thoughts and wishes.

Congratulations on you 1st Etsy sale! May it be the first of many. I love your cheery art card of hearts and flower.

I hope you get your boiler fixed real quick and that it doens't cost too much. Stay warm!

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
