Hello Folks!
Over on Instagram, Tiffany of @Southerngals_designs has challenged us to create a 5 minute journal page a day, for the next seven days. Here's my Day One spread. I'm using my little 6x4 inch art journal. I'm also sharing this page at Art Journal Journey.
I just used some paint and scraps that were on my desk, and teabags of course.
I went about 30 seconds over as my black paint pen hit some glue, and I had to re-activate it.
Also, most of you know that my daughter has just returned from 8 months of backpacking in SE Asia. We've been having wonderful catch-ups with her and my son (he went out to meet her in Myanmar for the last 3 weeks of her trip). Anyway, I just wanted to share some pics of the bunting I made for the big homecoming.
I used some really bright Gelli Plate prints, to which I added lots of extra stencilling.
Beth will being staying at home with us until September, when she is off to Derby to begin her working life as an engineer with Rolls Royce.
Wishing you all a happy and creative Sunday,
Alison xox
Wonderful journaling and love the bunting! Enjoy the time together with your daughter, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletelove your five minute page, and the bunting is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the page that you created and all in five minutes, well that isn't long, is it. I'm not sure I could do that as I like all the detail so much, but maybe I should give it a go ...lol 😉. I'm glad you are having a wonderful time with your daughter and family and that bunting is beautiful! The little white hearts you added to each letter is perfect 😀. You must be so proud of your daughter too with her has fullfilling her travel dreams and starting work with Rolls Royce - amazing! Well I'm now off to research how you reactivate pens once glue strikes ...lol 😉. Wishing you a Happy Sunday and have a wonderful new week! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteLovely bunting and a fabulous page!!! Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow the page you have created in just five minutes is dimply stunning! A fantastic and well balanced abstract - gorgeous! I couldn't do that as I often need even some days for special pages. Whe I look at them on the next day I see what still is needed. But maybe I should give this a go as well. For sure a great way to get loose and to learn. Fab that you had a wonderful time with your daughter and family and that bunting is absolutely beautiful with all the lovely details! You can be very proud of your talented daughter starting work with Rolls Royce - sounds simply amazing! Wishing you a Happy Sunday and have a wonderful start into the new week ahead! I am looking forward to more of the 5 minute journal entries! Thank you very much for supporting AJJ so lovely again dear Alison! Much appreciated! Hugs, Susi
ReplyDeleteIt takes me HOURS to come up with an idea, then about 30-45 minutes to assemble everything I want to use. After that, it takes forever for glue and paint to dry. Your 5 minute creation is unbelievable. I am totally impressed. BTW, I love your handwriting. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteYour bunting is fabulous. I love the added hearts you doodled on the words. SO glad to read your daughter is home. I'm also impressed she is an engineer. We female engineers need to stick together. And don't let anyone ask her how she likes driving the train (a sentiment people used to say to me, thinking it was something new and original).
Your 5 minute page looks like it take an hour. Love it! And the banner too. What an exciting journey for your daughter and she must be one smart cookie. Sounds like she has a great job lined up also. Happy rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
