Hi Everyone!
I'm sharing another page for Rae's Artmarks Challenge tonight. It features a pair of tortoises just like my little pets Josie and Olive. I've had them nearly two years, since they were tiny, and they're such great little characters. I've no idea of their sex, but I have an inkling that Olive may be an Oliver, as she/he is the smaller of the two, which is an indication apparently.
The word for today's page is 'Leap'. Today I took the leap of going to the cinema by myself. It was the Silver Screen cinema for age 55 plus, only £3 with a cuppa and a biscuit too. The film I saw was Goodbye Christopher Robin, a lovely film about A. A. Milne and his family, and his writing of the Winnie The Pooh books.

The tortoise stamp by Stampotique, was stamped twice onto tissue, then adhered to my page with matte medium. I used an Inkadinkado collage stamp on the background, with various acrylic paints.
I just love those Daniel Torrente tortoises, aren't they adorable?!
Linking my page up to Rike's Animals A-Z Challenge at Art Journal Journey. As I have some hearts on my page too, I'm also linking up to Stampotique's challenge 291 - Hearts.
Hope you all had a creative day too.

ReplyDeleteSuper tortoises - what a beautiful background you made for your Josie and Olive, great color choices! Solo visiting the cinema, yes I did that too, why not? Important thing is you enjoyed the film.
ReplyDeleteThose Daniel Torrente tortoises really are adorable!
Thank you for linking such a great entry to Art Journal Journey! Rike x
Such beautiful tortoises, Alison. I love the textured pieces you added for them to stand on. The entire spread is so adorable, and I love that you actually own two tortoises. Thanks for sharing this awesome beauty with us at Art Journal Journey. It is magical.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that movie, but I have gone to the theater by myself. Sometimes I want to see something nobody else is interested in. I have a Facebook friend who rescues and keeps tortoises, and they are interesting animals to watch up close. I've never had the space they would need to live happily. I like the face-on stamp.
ReplyDeleteYour page is gorgoeus Alison and the tortoises on there are the icing on the cake - what great stamps! And how exciting that you have some tortoises too - if you find a 3rd one that might confirm your suspicions about who's male and female :)
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of that movie - I hope it comes on tv oneday.
Gill xx
That looks great, Alison! I love the way they are watching (right word??)

Oh my, your tortoises are amazing! I love the stamps and the design of your page is perfect, I can just imagine them munching their way through those pretty flowers too ...lol 😉. How cool that you have tortoises and it must be fun to see their individual personalities 😁. The cinema sounds fun and I'd love to see that film, even better when there's a cuppa and biscuit included ...lol 😉. Enjoy the rest of your week! J 😊
