Art Journal Journey - Animals From A to Z

Hello again!

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments on my recent posts. I will be popping over to see what you're up to very shortly.

Today I made another page for Rae Missigman's February Artmarks Challenge. The day 2 word was Decide. What did I decide? Mainly I decided to get out for more walks in spite of the horrid Winter weather, because I feel so much better and positive and happy after some exercise.

The focal on this page is a ticket from Knole House, which is a local National Trust property we visited recently. The design is a copy of a ticket by Vita sackville-West, who lived at Knole as a young girl, and gave guided tours of the Showrooms. I believe the cheetah was part of the family crest.

Happy Monday Everyone!

  1. To decide to get out for more walks would be a good decision also for me! This is an exciting ticket with this cheetah and you made a gorgeous background and frame around!
Thank you very much for linking this beautiful page to Art Journal Journey!

  2. I fear it's too cold here to get out and walk. We have weather advisories because the wind chill is -5 F (-20.6 C) right now. But once it warms, I will do more walking.

This is a fabulous cheetah. I love all the doodles, the bright sunny colors, and the way you framed the page. It's a fantastic entry for Rike's theme at Art Journal Journey, Thanks for sharing it there.

  3. You made the best decision of the word challenge for sure!
Love your page and how interesting that Vita Sackville-West was a guide in Knole House. Knole House in Kent looks just beautiful - I recently saw it on television -- and found it very impressive.
Happy new week - and great that you have a C linked with this beautiful Cheetah page! JUST super! Thank you Alison!
We are happy to see this at Art Journal Journey!

  5. Haha! When in doubt go for a walk, couldn't agree more.
This is great, I like all the red and black dots and the dotty hearts. It's a super surround for the cheetah.

  7. I admire your determination to walk in this cold weather. I like walking but not when it's cold.

I've read some about Vita Sackville-West, and it must be exciting to be able to tour her birthplace. I googled the house to learn more, and it's _huge_!

I'll pass on the walk, even though its good for us. Its freezing cold here and snow is forecast tomorrow,
