New Year, New Challenges

A Happy New Year to you all! Wishing you health, happiness and lots of blessings in 2022.

I found a new Instagram challenge for January. It's @megjournals (hashtag)junkjournaljanuary.

I altered an old hardback book to create my junk journal. I took out all of the pages, and sewed in some new ones, using various book pages, music sheets, ledger paper, packaging paper etc.

This is the title and prompts page. Please forgive the photos. Daylight had gone, and I had to use the flash.

And here is my page for Day One's prompt of 'New Beginnings'.

There's my favourite hand-carved face stamp again, and I'm linking my page to Erika's fabulous new theme 'Let's Face It' at Art Journal Journey.

Thanks so much for visiting me today.

Hugs,

Alison

  1. This looks like a fun journal Alison. I like how you know all the days themes ahead of time too. Today's page is great, and I love that face stamp. I think I mentioned it a few days ago. It works perfect for AJJ, and I love the quote. It is absolutely true. We always say the same thing when people buy something we say is hideous or not our taste, like my sister-in-laws latest car. Smile. Thanks so much for joining in at AJJ. Have a wonderful 2022 too. Hugs-Erika

  4. I love this latest challenge you found on IG. For some reason, they won't let me join because I don't have a cell phone. I look forward to seeing how you interpret all the prompts, too. This first entry plays nicely in Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey, and I adore that beautiful face you carved. Thanks for sharing your new journal and your first page with us at AJJ, too. Happy New Year, dear.

  6. Creating new blank books out of old books is a great way to use something old and unneeded. I hope you have a great year.
