Afternoon All!
It's been a beautiful Spring day here, and I popped along to the National Trust's Emmett's Garden this afternoon. I sat in the woods eating my fruity picnic and doing a spot of crochet, and listening to the birds. Heaven!!!
I've just started the Demelza Blanket, commissioned by my nephew...
I kept hearing little rustlings in the leaves behind my bench, a tiny vole or mouse probably. I saw movement, but it didn't surface.
This magnolia hadn't lost all of its petals yet...
and the daffs are still out in force...
The rock garden is one of my favourite parts...
This morning, before I went out, I created a floral art journal page for Jo's Hello Springtime theme at Art Journal Journey...
It was a page in my Dina Wakley journal, with some leftover paint on, and I used Dina's Scribble Sticks to draw flowers, spritzing with water to activate. The centres are circles punched from a gel print. I finished with marks, scribble writing and a lovely quote I found on the web.
Hope you've had (or will have) a lovely day wherever you are in the world.

Such a beautiful happy page and it seems you had a fantastic time in that beautiful garden! Wonderful weather as well! Love to see your amazing photos - all is in such pretty bloom and your lovely face enjoying the sun and crocheting shows how a pleasure it was!
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening Alison and thank you for sharing the lovely photos of your day and this amazing arty page in your wonderful style with Art Journal Journey.
Big hugs, Susi
that looks a glorious place to sit and eat and crochet - what a great way to spend some time. I love how your feet look as if they are swinging above the ground, lol! Your page is just beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fantastic time, good for body and soul. Lovely journal page, too. Have a great evening, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt really is a beautiful quote and so very, very true! The sun and nature lift everyone's mood, whether or not they realise it. Isn't it great, lol?
ReplyDeleteLove the photos you shared and am quite jealous of your communing with nature, while I was stuck indoors or in a supermarket... I love your page...the scribble sticks were the perfect medium for it and your flowers and colours are perfect. Gorgeous work and wonderful to see a photo of you, too :-) Hope you enjoy your crochet - that's one craft I've never mastered, though I did crochet berets when they were in fashion, so I was able to do it then. I think I just became such an avid knitter, I could never learn to hold a crochet hook and yarn correctly. I know other knitters have told me they have exactly the same problem. It looks beautiful and I'm sure it's made with love, which makes it even better :-)
