Awaken Sleepyheads

Hi Everyone!

Josie & Ollie, my two Russian tortoises have awoken from their hibernation, and they've been creating havoc, spreading their food around their box this morning. Josie's worn herself out now in the corner, but Ollie is climbing the bridge on another circuit.

I decided to create an art journal spread to celebrate their awakening.

The tortoise stamps are from Stampotique, and I painted them and the background using DecoArt Fluid Acrylics. I cut some leafy foliage from a piece of painted under paper, adding details and words with a black gel pen.

Thanks for popping in,

Alison xox

  2. I love tortoises but have never had one as a pet. Yours and your inspired art celebrating them make me want to look into that possibility :) My younger son is ready to take them on when I die :) I'll need to do so much research.

  6. Fabulous journal pages and love the tortoise stamps -love the mess they caused lol-when ours were younger we had a tortoise that lived in an enclosure in the garden they can certainly move and climb!!! That's when pet shops used to have a window full of them but you olny see the small ones which need heat now

  9. Oh I love this page Alison. Those leaves are amazing and who doesn't love a cute tortoise? I didn't realize tortoises kept in the house would hibernation like that. I bet they are happy to be awake and out and about again. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika
