366 Somethings - Week 15

Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my recycled page for Elizabeth's T-Day! They were much appreciated.

Today I have my week 15 index card collages to share with you.

Some of my photos weren't so good this week, as the weather has changed, but I hope you enjoy this week's index card collages. I love my birdie on 102, which is your favourite?

My hubby still doesn't get why I use lined index cards. He thinks that the lines spoil them. Lol! What can you say?!

All You Need is Love and Tea

Hi Everyone!

I'm here today to share an art journal page for Elizabeth The Altered Book Lover's T-Day. As April is the month that Elizabeth celebrates her Bearthday on Earthday, I have used some re-cycled teabags and magazine images on my page.

I started with a layer of torn book, map, and music pages, before adhering the teabags and labels. I cut the teacup and teapot from a magazine, and finished with a Tim Holtz phrase sticker and stamped quote.

I look forward to seeing you joining in with Elizabeth's recycling T-Day.

Love and blessings,

Joy

Happy Easter Saturday Everyone!

There's still some joy to be had, despite all the doom and gloom. Sitting in my garden every morning, listening to the birds almost drowning out the distant motorway traffic, brings me a lot of joy.

And a new technique to me, using a pipette to mix water into acrylic paint, then dropping it from a height to create splatters, gave me a lot of joy. Here's another page for Valerie's Geometric Shapes theme at Art Journal Journey.

I've only one more blank page left in my Dina Wakley art journal, and you can see how the ink dripped down that steep slope. Lol!

Wishing you joy,

Alison xox

Sing Little Bird

Hi Everyone!

I sat out in the garden this morning, eating my porridge, and listening to the birdsong. It was warm and sunny, and a moment to forget all of the madness.

Inspired, I created this little art journal page for Valerie's Geometric Shapes theme at Art Journal Journey.

Starting with a torn book page, I glued an opened out, slightly scrunched teabag to it, then scraped some turquoise paint in places. Next I used the dropper from my black india ink pot to sketch the bird. To make him stand out, I painted around him in turquoise, and then I added the triangle marks, the title, and some contrasting red. I mounted the page onto black card, and this will be attached to a burlap page in my Dina Wakley art journal, probably with staples.

Wishing you all a creative and happy day,

keep safe and carry on,

Alison xox

366 Somethings - Week 14

Hello folks!

Here are my week 14 index card collages.

I love number 94! Which one is your favourite? Thinking those circles on 93 look like a virus?

Keep calm and safe,

30 Days of Mixed Media with Ana - Days 4 - 6

Hi Everyone!

Here are some more fun techniques for Ana's Instagram challenge.

Day 4 - Glue. I made some masks with my glue gun, then used them with spray inks. I also drew circles on card with my glue gun, painted with acrylics, then highlighted the glue circles with Treasure Gold.

Day 5 - Gesso. I used black and white gesso through a Carabelle Studio stencil. I added distress ink to the black one, with splashes of water. On the white gesso, I spritzed with water, then dripped Liquitex Acrylic Ink.

Day 6 - Stamps. I got my 5x3" Gelli Plate out, applied acrylic paint, then stamped into the paint with Carabelle Studio stamps. I printed sections of each colour of paint on the cards. Then I added stamping with paint and black archival ink. I'm linking these cards to the More Mixed Media Challenge, Anything Goes with Optional Yellow.

I hope I've inspired you to play.

Love & blessings,
Alison xox
