365 Somethings - Days 156-159

 Hello All.

I hope you're having a lovely weekend. The heat has been turned up here, 30 degs C is too hot for me outside. I'm planning to chill and make some art today, and catch up with some blogging.

Here's my latest set of collages for the 365 Somethings challenge.

And I captured photos of Canada Geese and their fluffy family on a walk recently. They guzzled up the duck and swan food I gave them.

We've had a lot of Starlings and their young visiting our bird feeders recently, 20 or 30 at a time. They make a lot of noise, but their antics make me smile. You can see our back lawn doesn't get mown. We like to encourage the wildlife.

That's all for today.

Thanks for visiting.

Alison

  1. I once again love your ATC's Alison. I never quite know what to expect when you show them, but I know they will always be so cool! And that goose family is very cute, and I love seeing your bird feeders. I have a bunch also, but I take mine down for the summer because the bears seem to find them. I do miss the birds though. Happy rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika

  2. Collage fodder at its finest, Alison. I adore it all. Your somethings always make me smile. I like this most recent series. They are wonderful and give me an idea, too.

Canadian geese landed here about 15 years ago. People started feeding them and they stayed. Now they won't leave and often dig through trash cans and cause havoc in the neighborhood. I hope yours have enough sense to move on once autumn arrives.

You have a LOT of bird feeders. Nice you don't have to mow. I can't afford that luxury. Glad you are able to make a place for both birds and pollinators. Hope you are feeling better, dear.

  4. Hi Alison, I hear you about the temps. I began sleeping daytime today because we are getting a heatwave this next week and just got up at 10pm and it's 31.2C on my screened in back porch, ugh. 28.0 is comfortable for me. My radio out there only shows the temp in Celcius, so now I'm partially converted from F, haha. However, I'm happy to sleep through the daytime heat, just praying our air conditioner holds up. Love your icads, intrigued by those circles, the white rings looks like icing or stencil paste or some such. I'm kind of over geese, our neighborhood was invaded by Muscovy geese a few years back when they dredged the nearby bayou. Nesting in our flower beds and just taking over. It was nasty at times. And, we did try not mowing our backyard as long as we could, but finally had to. Over here, city ordinance prohibits grass growth over 9 inches or they come mow and hand you a bill. LOL So Honey is back to mowing it. We are noticing more bee activity, tho, maybe it was worth it. Stay cool! XOX
