February 2019 Art Journal Calendar

Happy February Everyone!

Here is my art journal calendar spread for the month...

I started with some patterned paper collage, scraped white PaperArtsy Fresco acrylic over that, scribbled in the wet paint with the end of the palette knife, then scraped on some turquoise and red Fresco acrylic. I stencilled the journaling blobs with white, then yellow Fresco acrylic and a PaperArtsy stencil. The titles were also done with a PA stencil, and black Fresco acrylic. I finished with some stencilled yellow dots and black acrylic on the edges, then added the numbers and some black & white Posca paint pen doodles.

I'm linking my pages to Rike's Yellow theme at Art Journal Journey. I don't often use yellow, but I really like this colour combination.

Have a lovely weekend,

Alison xox

  10. This is a fantastic calendar page - I like it! Your mixed media background is gorgeous and all the black and white doodle details and the letters and numbers are fabulous, but of all that I adore your yellow circles you made, filling them during the month with your personal words. Every day a yellow sunshine day :)

  18. I love your February calendar spread, Alison. Yellow, red, and blue seemed like an odd palette to me (don't know why), but I've seen 2 of them at AJJ this month and they're both very striking.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx
