Hi Everyone.
Positive is what I am. At my last hospital appointment, the results from my medication was good, and my liver is now functioning normally again. Tomorrow I have a scan though, to check for scarring on my liver. Keeping positive!
So I created a collaged page in my Dina Wakley art journal for Rike's The Colour Yellow theme at Art Journal Journey. Yellow is such a positive colour.
I used a hessian page, on which I'd previously cut a scallop edge. Then I layered book page, rusty paper, teabags, doodled scraps, and pieces from a magazine. I finished with the word sticker on a scrap of hessian, some pen outlines, and white paint splashes.
Update on the guinea pigs. Sadly it didn't work very well putting the two new piggies in with Angus, too many fights. So, as I don't have room for more than one cage, I made the difficult decision to take them back to the animal rescue centre. Hopefully someone will fall in love and home Hamish and Donald (I renamed Fergus as Hubby kept saying he resembled a certain sandy haired president!) very soon.
With the recent spring weather, my two Russian tortoises, Josie and Ollie have come out of hibernation and are very lively, so I've plenty to take occupy myself with!
Hope you're all having a great week,
Alison xox
I love this, Alison - yellow accents are great - just don't think I can cope with another yellow background :-(
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you haven't been well. I'll pray. Hope your results get better every time you're tested...
Sounds as if you live in a menagerie, lol - reminds me of my friend, Cathy, in France. She has animals all over the (big) house and rare breed chickens running around her back garden. Her tortoise was around 40 before she died, but I remember house sitting one Christmas and being totally shocked by her wandering out from underneath the furniture. She lived inside during the winter and used to help herself to lettuce leaves. It didn't worry me once I realised but at first I nearly jumped out of my skin! Hope the guinea pigs find new homes. Cathy has two and they live in the kitchen in a house with net curtains at its windows! Works really well for all the veggie cast offs, though.
Stay positive!

Fabulous page, Alison! You definitely have the best attitude. I'm glad to hear your test results were good. Eileen xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful page which radiates positivity. Glad you got good results. Sorry about the guinea pigs. Hugs, Valerie

ReplyDeletei love the page with all those layered elements, bravo! xox
Oh no Alison where have I been with all this going on, I knew you had hospital and medication but was unsure when and what for. Sending HUGE positive vibes your way (((Alison))) and a healing hug. I love your mixed media page so warm and inviting with it's hessian background.
ReplyDeleteTake good care Hugs Tracey xx
Glad to hear that you are getting better and I'm sending positive thoughts for your scan tomorrow too! Your page is a riot of beautiful yellow, I love how you collaged the pieces together 😁. Shame about the guinea pigs, it's for the best though if they were getting stressed and Fergus is such a cutie! The spring like temperatures are unreal aren't they, it seems to be more like April than Feb 😉. All the best for tomorrow, take care! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your test result were good Alison! This page is wonderful - so full of positivism and arty elements - gorgeous and great for Rike's YELLOW theme! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the boys' flat-sharing community miscarried.
A good sign that the tortoises have woken up . Here we have sun and warmth as well again - so much needed.
Happy rest of the week.
Hugs Susi
I agree that yellow is a positive color and am glad you are getting good news. I hope that continues. I'm sorry the guinea pigs didn't get along, but surely someone will have a good home suitable for them. I'd forgotten you had tortoises! I'd love one, but don't have the money right now to set up a good home for them. Maybe next year...
ReplyDeleteHi Alison, I hope your scan goes ok. I must have missed some posts because I don't remember you talking about problems with your liver... really pleased the medication is working though. Shame about the guinea pigs,I believe they do have a tendancy to fight. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the guinea pigs, hope you are ok. Sending hugs. Love this piece , wonderful textural layers and the yellow really pops ❤️❤️

Beautiful page but the news of your results are extra good.xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad to read the test results were good news, but the scarring is a bit scary. I hope that turns out to be good news, too.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a positive attitude. Your journal page is full of positive emotions. I love the way you used the color, the rusty paper, and of course, the tea bag. This is a beautiful piece for Rike's theme at Art Journal Journey.
To bad about the guinea pigs, but had to laugh at what your husband said. Shows how respected he is both at home and abroad! Not your husband, the President.
Really pleased that your results were good Ali. Yep, stay positive. Hope all goes well with the scan. What a shame about the piggies. Donald!!! :):) Wonderful page. Lovely layers and texture. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Take care, Flo xx
ReplyDeleteYour page is fantastic - so positive and sunny, so bright in colors, and the gorgeous layers give so much texture to the page! I like all your amazing details!
