Art Journal Calendar January 2019

Hi Everyone!

It's a new year, and this year I have a new book to start for my art journal calendar spreads. Here's January...

It's a grungy page, with scraps of book page, used teabag papers, scrapes of acrylic paints, and stencilled splotches. Oh, and it wouldn't be me without some splashes of paint too! Red for a bit of contrast.

And here are all of my 2018 calendar pages together...

We have visitors coming next week, so I'm busy trying to get the house clean and tidy. I have a plan, I'm tackling a room a day, and I started with our hallway. I'm impressed with myself, I filled two big sacks with coats we don't wear anymore! They're going to the charity shop tomorrow.

Hope you're all having a good week.

  1. I really love all your planner pages Alison. My January set up in my travellers notebook is so boring, seeing yours makes me want to tear mine up and start again haha :)
Good luck with all the tidying and sorting out - sounds like you are doing really well.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas and have a wonderful 2019.

  4. I'm loving all that January grunge Alison, fab start to the calendar year.
We've had guests over New Year and with a poorly dog keeping things tidy has been skimmed over. Need to catch my breath before I start my after season clear up, I have painting plans on a large scale.
Have fun with the clean up & enjoy the company.

  5. Wonderful new calendar journal, Alison. You definitely put mine to shame. I love how you used the tea bags and the splotches, too. Thanks for sharing your 2018 calendar pages, too. I remember all but one.

You are a busy beaver, and I like your attitude of cleaning one room a day. Wise choice and plan.

  6. It's fun to see all of last years calendars. There are some major colors popping off the page. And I like the splatters for January. I took a couple of minutes to see if they are all the same splatter in different orientations. I say they are. Am I right? It's January 3 in your world now and I hope its a happy one. hugs-Erika

  10. I love the grungy look of your calender pages this month! I don't think it would be the same without including your signature splatters ...lol 😉. It was lovely to see your 2018 pages again; the bright colours, designs and styles are fabulous and suprisingly no teabags, that I could see anyway ...lol 😀. Sounds like you are having fun cleaning out the house room by room, enjoy! Happy weekend and I hope you have a wonderful time with your visitors next week! J 😊 x
