AJJ - Geometric Journaling & New Guinea Pigs

Hi Everyone!

Let me start by showing you the new Guinea pigs...

That's Angus in the foreground, his 'mini-me' Hamish top right, and Fergus is just peeping out on the left. The cage is bigger than it looks, but I'm thinking of getting a larger enclosure. Just need to clear some more space in my craft room!

Here's a better pic of Fergus. He has a cute little white quiff.

And here is another art journal spread, inspired by Susi's recent art, for my Geometric Shapes theme at Art Journal Journey. I'm also entering it in Moo-Mania & More's Square Challenge.

My craft friend Hazel, who some of you may know from Hazel's Creative Moments, came over for a wonderful arty session, catch up, and lunch yesterday. We both played in our art journals. I got messy with paint, collage, PaperArtsy stamps, and mark-making.

I also did some scribble writing with Bombay India Ink and my new glass dip pen. Teabags got in the page too, of course, both underneath and on top!

Happy Thursday,

Alison xox

  5. I love your guinea pigs. We had a 3'x4' enclosure for ours, and it took up so much space! But you're right that they need more room than the 10-gallon aquariums you sometimes see them in. And company. They like friends :) I'm sure they're happy with the 3 of them together.

I appreciate your close-up. It helps me to see how you get such good layering and depth without it ever looking like too much.

  12. How lovely to meet the guinea pigs - I hope they're well-behaved while you're crafting! Gorgeous page spread - I love the stamping on kraft, the perfect sepia look for the photos, and the great textures from the teabags, hessian and cheesecloth. Interested in the glass dipping pen too - I have a couple of normal wooden ones with metal nibs, but glass sounds very cool.

  17. I'm a dufus. I was here earlier, read your post, oohed and awed over the new guinea pigs, and fell in love with the beautiful art you created. However, I failed to leave you a comment.

I was really, really impressed with your incredible spread for AJJ. It is gorgeous and feels so old fashioned, yet modern at the same time. It's that juxtaposition that drew me in. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, dear.
