Kasia's Advent Calendar 2020

 Hi Everyone!

It's the third year that Kasia Avery from Everything Art has run her free Advent Calendar Art Journaling Challenge. This year, as Kasia is heavily pregnant, the challenge is only 14 days, and it began last Friday, 4th December.

I'm using an A6 (6x4") handmade journal for the challenge, and here's my decorated cover.

Day One's theme was 'Wasting Time'. Wasting time is not necessarily a bad thing. I spend a lot of time watching the birds and squirrels in my garden, making art, walking in the countryside, crocheting and watching the TV. These are all good ways to 'waste time'.

I'm linking my page to Tracey's 'The Meaning Of' theme at Art Journal Journey.

366 Somethings - Week 49

Hi Everyone! I hope you're all well, and not too stressed with Christmas preparations.

We met our daughter at a local park, for a brief walk at the weekend. She was up our way, meeting up with a couple of friends. She made the astute comment that I must be quite relieved to be having a quiet Christmas this year, as I usually get very stressed that everything has to be perfect for her and her brother's visit. She is quite right. We have bought fewer presents this year, will put up a few decorations, enjoy a nice meal, and get together with family and friends online. And we will be grateful for all the blessings we have.

Here are my week 49 collaged index cards.

You might guess that the little elves are part of an Advent calendar. It's a tea calendar with a lovely selection of herbal teas. I thought the brightly coloured teabag packets would be lovely to use on my Advent ICADS. And there's teabag papers on each one also, of course.

I think 340 is my favourite this week. What do you think?

Thank you so much for dropping by,

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 30

 Hi Everyone!

Today I have my final page from the Gratitude Junk Journal course to show you.

For this last page, we had a Zoom art session with prompts drawn from a jar by Tiare Smith from Embrace Your Art, who ran the course. It was a lot of fun, and so nice to be making art along with the other ladies. It meant a lot to me, as this is something I've missed. Also, thinking about gratitude for the whole of November was very meaningful to me, it's a really good thing to focus on.

I'm linking up to Tracey's The Meaning Of theme at Art Journal Journey. I hope it qualifies, but Tracey did say that it was basically an Anything Goes month as all art has meaning.

Wishing you all a happy and arty weekend,

Alison xox

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 29

 Happy Friday Everyone!

I've got another junk journal page to share with you. This one has a quote by Doris Day. 'Gratitude is riches. Complaint is poverty.' Feeling gratitude definitely makes you feel better than complaining about stuff.

The meaning of life for me is arty play every day! I'm linking this page to Tracey's The Meaning Of theme at Art Journal Journey.

Have a wonderful gratitude filled day!

Thanks for visiting me,

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 28

 Hi Everyone!

Here's another gratitude junk journal page. The theme was gratitude for our strengths. I didn't list any out, but like everyone, I had to call upon a few of my strengths in the past week. One of them was telling our children that we had decided we couldn't see them at Christmas. Our daughter had suggested a meet up somewhere convenient for us all, for a walk. We'll do a family video call instead, from the comfort of our homes. Fortunately our children can spend Christmas together, so none of us will be alone.

Keep safe and well,

Art Journal Journey - The Meaning Of...

 Hi Everyone.

It's a new month, so today I have my December art journal calendar to share with you.

My pages reflect the true meaning of Christmas for me, so I'm linking up with Tracey's The Meaning Of theme at Art Journal Journey.

I began by gluing down some gel prints to my pages, then I used nativity stamps by Elusive Images (sadly no longer in business), stamping onto tissue to get a good print, then gluing to my background with matt medium.

The title was stamped with Darkroom Door's Alphabet Medley stamp set.

Thanks for dropping by,

366 Somethings - Week 48

 Hi Everyone!

It's Tuesday, and I've finished another week of my daily collaged index cards for 366 Somethings.

I love the first and last ones, and those birds. Do you have any favourites?

I'm off to veg in front of Netflix's The Crown now. Have a great day/evening folks, and thanks again for visiting.
