Our Green and Pleasant Land

Happy Friday Everyone!

Our garden and local fields haven't been very green lately with the heatwave, but I've been busy watering plants to keep our garden as green as possible, and it made me appreciate our little bit of paradise.

So here is the second page I created at my friend Hazel's house, with my lovely garden in mind, and I'm linking it to Elizabeth's Count Your Blessings Challenge at Art Journal Journey.

It was another page created using my art prompts. I used some funky tree stamps by Dina Wakley to represent my garden love. The red splatters look like cherries on the trees, although we only have conifers in our garden. Hazel thought the blue splodges looked like her pond, although we only have a little stone birdbath at home.

Wishing you all a happy weekend,

Alison xxx

  1. Your garden looks very good on paper. I can imagine it as you described it. You are so lucky to have a friend who you can make art with and who shares ideas of your page you created. It's truly a beauty and yes, a genuine blessing we often take for granted. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey and linking to my theme there.

  2. I could picture your garden as I was reading your post. Super page Ali. It's nice to stop in the moment and appreciate what is around us. I always think nature is a wonderful source of inspiration..the colours, the shapes, the movement but it is easy to take for granted isn't it. Sounds like you had a great time with Hazel. 3. The weather really has taken it's toll on our green areas, I only mentioned today how good it was to see new life sprouting after a few days of drizzle and 5 minute downpours. Love those red splatters, they do look like little cherries.
    Another happy play date page.
Wishing you a super weekend whether indoors or out.

  5. I love your garden page - all the little "cherries" and the pond and now I am also able to know your garden as you described in the text!

  6. You know I have those stamps but I always saw them as a shape, not trees. They are really cool trees though, and I can get garden from your art. Another super piece Alison. Hugs-Erika

  7. I understand trying to keep a space green in this dry heat. Your page honoring the beauty in your garden is looking better than the garden outside my window right now ;) but I'm appreciating it as beauty nevertheless :)

  8. I love your garden page and how you created it while at your friend who has a pond, the stamps and colours are fantastic. All our gardens in the UK have suffered this year with not a lot of rain.
