Book Love

Hi Everyone!

I love reading a good novel, usually a bit of a romance, historical mostly. Although my bedside pile currently consists of a few of Kate Moreton's. I also like a good mystery once in a while, and Tolkein is a favourite too. Reading is a blessing I cherish. So here's another page for Elizabeth's challenge at Art Journal Journey.

On my hunt through magazines for images of books, it was mostly cookery books that I found, and one on cricket! Lol! Not my usual reads! I did find a Mr. Darcy quote from Pride & Prejudice though, which is a definite favourite.

Thanks for visiting,

  2. Such an incredible treat to see and appreciate this lovely art you created for us today. I am also a BIG fan of books. No kindle in this house. I like the feel of the pages as I turn each one. That's what made this journal page so incredibly relevant to my theme at Art Journal Journey. And it is a gem, too.

The background is wonderful, the half circles so well done, and the doodles are fabulous. I was watching a Make it Artsy episode the other day and Julie Fey-Fan Baltzer was mentioning the little circles you placed around your half circle were (at least I think) called mirroring. I immediately recognized it as a design element, and was thrilled to see a great example.

Of course, the wonderful quote was perfect, too. Thaks for sharing this at Art Journal Journey, dear Allison. I am so grateful for your support.

  10. This is a fabulous page Alison, I do love to read as it's so relaxing but books tend to relax me a little too much and I find with the blink of an eye i'm asleep. Reading blogs keeps me awake much longer.
Love all the white detail on this page and we all love a little Mr Darcy :))
Have a super weekend Hugs Tracey xx

  13. Pride and Prejudice could never fail to give you a quote! I usually only read books at bedtime - unless it really grabs me (like Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine did) unless it's cook book or a craft book! This is fabulous! Hugs, Chrisx
