Hi Everyone!
I love reading a good novel, usually a bit of a romance, historical mostly. Although my bedside pile currently consists of a few of Kate Moreton's. I also like a good mystery once in a while, and Tolkein is a favourite too. Reading is a blessing I cherish. So here's another page for Elizabeth's challenge at Art Journal Journey.
On my hunt through magazines for images of books, it was mostly cookery books that I found, and one on cricket! Lol! Not my usual reads! I did find a Mr. Darcy quote from Pride & Prejudice though, which is a definite favourite.
Thanks for visiting,
Alison xox
Wonderful page, and who doesn't love Mr Darcy? Have a nice evening, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteSuch an incredible treat to see and appreciate this lovely art you created for us today. I am also a BIG fan of books. No kindle in this house. I like the feel of the pages as I turn each one. That's what made this journal page so incredibly relevant to my theme at Art Journal Journey. And it is a gem, too.
ReplyDeleteThe background is wonderful, the half circles so well done, and the doodles are fabulous. I was watching a Make it Artsy episode the other day and Julie Fey-Fan Baltzer was mentioning the little circles you placed around your half circle were (at least I think) called mirroring. I immediately recognized it as a design element, and was thrilled to see a great example.
Of course, the wonderful quote was perfect, too. Thaks for sharing this at Art Journal Journey, dear Allison. I am so grateful for your support.
Oh yes, I love it too and your page is outstanding Alison! <3
ReplyDeleteA fabulous page Alison and of course it is a great quote.
ReplyDeleteReading is important to me as well especially later in the evening before bedtime.

Fabulous page and brilliant quote-I used to read all the time but since the library closed I don't make the time to sit and read

I am with you and I didn't even think of reading as a page for Elizabeth's challenge. Very smart. Reading is such a blessing. Love your page. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI love this page, and reading too - have a huge pile of novels to be read! Kate Moreton is good, I like her.
ReplyDeleteYour page is breathtaking! Love the white writing over the black one. Reading is such a blessing - you are so right! And oh yes! Mr. Darcy! A fantatsic entry for Elizabeth's theme!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alison!
Happy Friday!
Hugs, Susi
I love reading, too, and always have at least two books going. It's a blessing indeed to be able to read and to have access to books. I love your page and that you found the perfect quote to use :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous page Alison, I do love to read as it's so relaxing but books tend to relax me a little too much and I find with the blink of an eye i'm asleep. Reading blogs keeps me awake much longer.
ReplyDeleteLove all the white detail on this page and we all love a little Mr Darcy :))
Have a super weekend Hugs Tracey xx

ReplyDeletehappy sunday.

I love that quote too and the story is one of my favourites 😁. Your page is beautiful with all that detail in the background with the stunning blue heart! I hope you had a lovely week and are having a wonderful weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeletePride and Prejudice could never fail to give you a quote! I usually only read books at bedtime - unless it really grabs me (like Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine did) unless it's cook book or a craft book! This is fabulous! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteYes, sign me up for the Darcy fan club - a marvellous quote, and you've done it proud with this romantic page.
