Ally Pally Craft Show April 2018, and Collage at Art Journal Journey

Hi Everyone!

It's been a busy few days. I've been adding lots of new shawls to my Etsy Shop CraftytrogsYarnArt for a start. Then on Saturday I went up to London, to the Alexandra Palace Craft Show. It may be the last time I'll go, as it was my favourite shop PaperArtsy's last time there. Such a pity, as it's a lovely opportunity to meet up with other PA fans who are good friends of mine.

Here are my purchases. Not a lot, but I stocked up on journaling pens, succumbed to one of Seth Apter's pots of Baked Texture EPs (Patina Oxide if you're interested), a couple of bargain wooden box sets, paints, re-inker, and Tim Holtz Paper Dolls.

I met the lovely Tracy Evans, who I've known in Blogland forever. She was demonstrating on the Aall and Create stand with her new stamps, and doing some impromptu make & takes. She very kindly gave me a few rusty nails, pictured above, and here is my version of her lovely artwork. I just adore her stamps, and this combination of Dina Wakley paint colours, Cheddar, Fuchsia and Turquoise!

And, I finally found time yesterday to create another page in my art journal for my Recycle & Collage challenge over at Art Journal Journey.

Hope you're all having a great week,

Alison xox

  1. I love those paper dolls you picked up. The possibilities are endless. Cheddar is the perfect name for that color in the second pic. Both of your pieces are fabulous Alison!

I love all your shalws and pinned my favourites to my crocheting and knitting board at Pinterest to maybe support you in that way! You have purchased super goodies at the trade fair!
I am curious about the rusty nails and look forward to what you will come up with them.
Really sad for you PA will not longer be at this trade show.
I can imagine how nice to meet up with like-minded bloggers and friends there.
I am in awe of your brilliant "follow your heart" page and the super fancy RECYCLING page - you have such a delightfurl style!!!
    Happy week Alison!

  8. I love your art, especially the cheddar, fuchsia and turquoise one is amazing!
I love the things you bought at Ally Pally. You have been a good girl and not gone over the top. The paper dolls are gorgeous, and the journaling pens are really necessary.
You asked me about the book The Forgotten Garden. I have not read it, so I don't think it was me that recommended it. I have read The House At Riverton though.
    Greetings from Spain,

  10. Looks like you grabbed a handful of very useful crafty items, it's a real shame regarding PA but i see more and more outlets at shows sharing the PA love which is always good to see.
I adore your Tracy card, isn't that cheddar awesome!! I was playing with that set a couple of weeks ago but not had chance to share them yet. Still keeping my fingers crossed on joining the Recycle & Collage AJJ. Have a smashing evening Alison.

  11. What a lovely haul from the Craft Show. I must pop over for a look at Paper Artsy.
I just love both pages here in these bright colours. I especially like the second with the modern art flowers and the great scribbly background.

  15. I had planned to be here sooner, but my keyboard had other plans. I saw several of my art friends went to Ally Pally and said how sad they were that PaperArtsy wouldn't be there ever again. It must have been a sad day for everyone who went, knowing it is an end of an era, so to speak. You picked up some lovely items, though, and I also got sucked into getting some of those paper dolls. I now have TWO sets of different ones, and have only used about five from the first set. I just sit and fondle them (not like that!).

You have created two wonderful journal pages today. I was so impressed with both and was tickled to see the one you chose to share at Art Journal Journey.

BTW, I am lusting over those rusty nails (and tea bags, too).
