AJJ - We're All... Being Random

Hi Everyone. Not much has happened in the craft room this week. I did paint a little dinosaur card for my friend's grandson who is 5 years old today. 

On a gel plate print, I sketched the dinosaur from a picture, then painted it black and added white and orange details. Then I added a hand-written message with my Posca paint pens. Hopefully he'll like it, he's dinosaur mad, and knows all their names!

Today, I decided it's been too long since I art journalled, so I got out my pack of art prompt cards, and here's what happened...

These are the prompts I used...

1. Cut a picture or face from a magazine and adhere.

2. Add white circles or marks.

3. Trace your hand.

4. Draw a quick self-portrait.

5. Use a stencil.

6. Scribble randomly on page.

7. Apply paint with a lid.

8. Use watercolour paint.

9. Add some doodling.

10. Use metallic paint to make marks.

11. Add paint fingerprints. 

12. Do some scribble journalling.

Hello everyone. Here's another page for Halle's 'Words to live by' theme at Art Journal Journey.

It started with some teabag texture, then Grunge Paste through a PaperArtsy stencil. I scraped on some Seaglass Fresco Finish Acrylic, drew circles with black Bombay India Ink, holding up the page to get drips. I added a butterfly lady, some writing, hearts and splatters.

I Am The Fire

Hi Everyone. For some reason I had the lyrics 'I am fire' in my head when I started this latest art journal page. When I searched the internet, I discovered Halestorm's 'I am the Fire'. Now I'm listening to a playlist! :-)

Not A Material Girl!

Morning All!

I had a rainbow of leftover paint brayered on a page in my Dina Wakley art journal, and Southern Gals Designs Tiffany inspired me to create a sketchy face with a Stabilo all surface pencil. I also wanted to join in with Halle's 'Words to Live By' theme at Art journal Journey, so I found a great quote I had saved in my 'Words' folder on Pinterest. Then I realised it might work for the 'Material Girl' theme at Try It On Tuesday, although not a material girl!

The quote reads 'Some women want diamonds... Other just want a hammock, a campfire, and some peace and quiet.' As I'm a crochet addict, I added 'and a hook and some yarn!'

Hoping the sun will be shining soon, as I'm off to hang some washing out.

Art Journal Journey - Words To Live By

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from having a filling at the dentist, mouth a bit numb still, so I dived straight into my art journal and created another page for Halle's Words to Live by theme at Art Journal Journey.

A page that already had some leftover paint on, some torn gelli-printed book page, and I found this great quote on Pinterest, 'You are confined only by the walls you build yourself', that I hand-wrote on some teabags.

Art Journal Calendar June 2019

Hi Everyone!

We just returned from a fabulous fortnight's holiday in Chamonix, France. We stayed in a lovely chalet style hotel, with an amazing view of Mont Blanc from our room, although it's a little hard to see in this photo sadly. You can clearly see Le Glacier de Bossons though (above the hotel in the middle of the photo). We walked up to see it one day.

We enjoyed lots of hikes up in the mountains. Here's a sneaky photo that hubby took of me on Le Petit Balcon Sud.

And a photo of hubby overlooking La Mer De Glace. The glacier is receding fast recently.

And here's an obligatory selfie somewhere in the mountains.

My June art journal spread was inspired by our adventures in the mountains, and I found some great quotes on Pinterest to add, making my page qualify for Halle's 'Words To Live By' theme at Art Journal Journey.

I used some torn gelli-printed pieces of book page to collage the mountains, trying to show the amazing range of colours that can be seen. The quotes read... 'Life will test you, but remember this, when you walk up a mountain your legs get stronger.' and 'The mountains are calling and I must go.'

Thankfully, I made notes whilst we were away, on our daily activities, so now I can start filling in those mountains :-)
