Art Journal Calendar - September 2024

 Hello All.

I've been busy with my crochet hook lately, making poppies for Remembrance, hats and scarves for charity, and now I'm getting started on projects for my daughter's wedding in 2026! She's requested crocheted place mats for all the guests (possibly 160 or more), crocheted potted plants, and crocheted flowers to go in coloured glass vases. It's lucky that I crochet fairly quickly.

Anyway, I did manage to make my September art journal calendar, and here it is.

That transparent red iron oxide acrylic against the PaperArtsy Seaglass acrylic is making my heart sing!

I'm linking my calendar to Art Journal Journey, where Aimeslee's theme is Anything Goes.

And before I go, here is my completed August calendar.

Thanks for visiting,

Alison

  3. Hi Alison, this must be the day to upload calendar pages, I just did it! lol I love that colour combo, it looks amazing and grungy. I also love your August page, I don't remember seeing it. OMG 160 placemats etc no wonder you are starting now, that's a lot of work. At least she isn't asking you to crochet the cake too, best not to give her ideas eh, although it would be a lovely reminder that would last beyond real cake. My friend's daughter just asked her to crochet a cake for her classroom, and it had to be covered in little animals etc, it was so adorable. Here's to a crafty week ahead!

  5. This is a very autumnal background you created for your September calendar. It is also perfect for Aimeslee's theme at AJJ. As always, you put my calendar pages to shame.

  6. Love both your pieces Alison but especially the one to fill in - it's the colour combination as I love blue/turquoise and brown together.
Wow, so you are an avid crochet lady! Someone tried to teach me to crochet one afternoon and gave up. I just cannot get the hang of it yet I have a beautiful crochet mat I once made with instruction (but no help) from my mum. She was a good sewer but only dabbled in crochet unlike her sister who was wonderful at crochet (made me dresses, suits when I was in my late teens) but could not teach me how to do it. Fancy a go?
    Hugs, Neet xx
ps hope you have started - that is an awesome task ahead

  9. I like all the autumnal pages above, they're so pretty, but thought I'd comment on this here too. Love the colorful calendar page with circles, but I love anything rainbowsy and happy so that is not strange. Anyways. Yum all of it.
