More Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone!

As promised, here are some more of the Christmas cards I've made.

Some Crafty Individuals stamped stars, embossed with Stampendous Frantage Aged Aqua EP...

And some glittery trees I made, using offcuts of the Dylusions Paint backgrounds from yesterday's cards...

I've also been crocheting Christmas baubles...

Happy Friday!

Happy Chats

Hi Everyone!

Isn't it amazing that we can communicate with our loved ones wherever they may be on the planet?! Today we had a lovely chat with our daughter Beth, who's currently in Hong Kong. It warmed our hearts!

The blue background design was printed from a carved rubber stamp that Beth made at school. She found it when she was having a clear out before she went off on her travels, and asked if I wanted it. I love how the design shows through my painted mug. I cut a teabag to fit the top of the mug, to represent my tea.

Wishing you all a wonderful week,

Happy Birthday Beth!

Hello Everyone!

It's been a hectic few days, but my beautiful daughter finally set off on her gap year travels last Wednesday. Her first stop is Hong Kong, where she is celebrating her 23rd birthday today. Here's the card I made for her...

You can follow Beth's adventures on her travel blog at northsoutheastbeth.com, and on her Instagram @northsoutheastbeth.

Have a fab weekend everyone!

Tea...A Hug in a Cup

Hello Everyone!

Here's another journal page for Chris' challenge at Art Journal Journey. A bit of collage, paint, and mark making, and tried my hand at sketching a cup & saucer. I used black paint in a bottle with a fine tip for the writing and outlines. I'm also linking to Elizabeth's 'T Stands for Tuesday' Challenge.

And here's a cosy cowl I crocheted using 100% Merino Wool. I'm making full use of it on these icy mornings!

Have a great day!

Crochet and Love Keeps Me Warm!

Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd share another crochet project, a very cosy poncho I made recently. The pattern I used is Black Pearl Poncho by Karen McKenna, and it's free on Ravelry. I love it! This is me on Worthing Beach about a week ago.

And, today I created another page in my art journal for Chris' '101 Ways To Keep Warm' Challenge at Art Journal Journey. My wonderful Hubby keeps me warm! And he makes a lovely cuppa! ;-)

By the way, Erika asked where my daughter was going on her travels. Here's the list... Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia...I think that's it! Phew!

Happy Monday! Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Winter Day Remedies and Bright Crochet

Hi Everyone!

Art has taken a back seat recently, as I was commissioned by my daughter to make a bright and lightweight top for her gap year travels. I adapted a pattern, using a more open and lacy stitch, so that it wouldn't be too heavy in her rucksack. It's basically 4 rectangles stitched together, leaving openings for arms and head, then a border added. She loves it!

So today I got out my paint, found a magazine image, empty teabag, and an old book page, and created a page in my art journal for Chris' challenge over at Art Journal Journey, '101 Ways To Keep Warm'. I should have written Winter Day Remedy, but too late now!

Wishing you all a warm and happy Sunday!

Art Journal Calendar - November 2017

Hi Everyone! Happy November!

Here's my art journal calendar for the coming month, inspired by bonfire night, fireworks, and cosy nights in by the fire. I always like to have candles burning this time of year, to scent my rooms and provide a warming glow. My page also fits with Chris' theme over at Art Journal Journey '101 Ways To Keep Warm'.

Have a lovely day, and remember it's less than 8 weeks till Christmas...argh!!
