February Journal Recipe Days 10 & 11

 Hello All.

If you were wondering what happened to my post yesterday, it was Storm Eunice. She swept across the Uk, affecting the South and South West mainly, with up to 120mph winds. We lost our power around midday, and didn't get it back until 9.10am today. It was a long, dark and cold night! We hardly slept as it was so cold, and this morning discovered a destroyed fence panel. It could have been a lot worse though. Luckily we have a gas oven, matches and plenty of candles.

Here is yesterday's February Journal Recipe page (Day 10).

The prompts are...

Colour - Lavender

Shape - Use any symbol that has meaning for you. I used circles and numbers.

Technique 1 - Print with bubble wrap.

Technique 2 - Grab an object nearby and draw it's outline. I used an oblong paint palette.

I used watercolour paint for the background and focal image, and acrylic paint to print with the bubble wrap. I traced around my paint palette and outlined my focal with a Stabilo All black pencil, and activated it with water.

Todays prompts (Day 11) are...

Colour - Peach.

Shape - Irregular Polygon.

Technique 1 - Make some wavy lines.

Technique 2 - Draw some fish.

My fish are the 7 sided irregular polygons.

I'm linking up to Elizabeth and Bleubeard's What's your style theme at Art Journal Journey. Today's fish are a bit quirky, which is probably my style :D

Thanks for dropping by,

Alison

  5. These are fun Alison and I particulary like your fish. You could knock off the irregular polygon with these fun swimmers. Hope you're having a super weekend. It's snowing lightly right now and we're finishing pulling down a closet. Time to get back to work-I am being told. Thanks for sharing for Elizabeth's challenge at AJJ. hugs-Erika

  7. Looks like we were in similar boats last night, but I didn't lose electricity. Just my internet and phone. which means I was still able to stay warm.

like both of these for different reasons. For Day 10, I like the lavender colors, the way you overlapped the paint palette and the lace. It was a fun page.

For Day 11, I fell in love with the fish and they way you treated them. The wavy lines played their part as part of the ocean. Quirky and clever, this is a also a wonderful journal page. Thanks for sharing both of these with Bleubeard and me using our theme at Art Journal Journey. They are fabulous. Hope you are warming up by now.
