ICADs Days 57-61

Hello all from a wet and windy UK.

I have my final 5 ICADs to share with you today. I've really enjoyed the challenge of following Tammy's prompts this year.

Day 57 - Bird. An easy one, I used one of my watercolour birds that I painted a while back.

Day 58 - Illustration.

Day 59 - Peaceful. Watching the bees and butterflies in my garden. They love the lavender and marjoram. I painted the lavender with watercolour, and added bees and butterfy images cut from a magazine. You may recognise this as the icad I used on a junk journal page.

Day 60 - Filigree. Painted with gold watercolour. It has a beautiful shimmer.

Day 61 - Mosaic. Definitely the most fiddly one. I cut pieces of patterned papers to look like broken pieces of china.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my ICADs this year, they've all been great appreciated.

Have a lovely weekend.

AEDM Day 11

 Hello All.

I'm not sure if it was a side effect from my jab, but I woke up feeling nauseous today.

I felt a little better this afternoon, and managed to make some more Christmas cards. I'd better think about sending my overseas ones off soon, as time is marching on.

I made 8 cards today, 4 of each colourway. It brings my total to 51 so far, only about 20 left to make. Fortunately, not all of them are posted!

I'm linking up to Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge Day 11.

Thanks for visiting.

52 Weeks Art Journal - Week 24 - Postcard

 Hello All.

Thanks for your lovely comments on yesterday's post. I've a bit of a toothache today, I don't know whether that's normal after root canal. To be honest, the dentist was wearing full PPE, he looked like an astronaut, and I could barely understand what he said to me. I'll call them Monday if it persists though.

Elizabeth, I'm wearing a wrist support, and using my left hand to type as much as I can. I read that tennis elbow can take from 6 months to a year to heal. Very depressing!

I'm still managing a bit of art every day though, and today I have this week's page for Raspberry Blue Sky's 52WeeksArtJournal to share with you. The theme is Postcard.

I made a background with lots of round used teabags, then swiped a black ink pad over it and around the edges.

I used some gel prints to collage a 6x4" index card, then stamped some images by Sara Naumann for PaperArtsy. I added some gel print circles, stamped with Crafty Individuals butterflies. I think it looks like my postcard is being held in place by butterfly magnets.

I'm linking my page to Mia's Butterfly theme at Art Journal Journey.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Thanks for dropping by,

Hope Is A Waking Dream

Hi Everyone! I have another art journal page for my Pockets and Tags theme at Art Journal Journey.

I started by gluing some teabags to my kraft page, then scraped on some blue paint, and stamped some script with turquoise paint.

The tag was from my stash, and has a PaperArtsy Infusions Ink background on it I think. I popped an empty teabag into a tea packet, and stapled it to the tag, then sewed on a concertinaed teabag at the bottom. I tied on some orange ribbon, then sewed across that too, then glued the tag onto my page.

The title is from PaperArtsy Sara Naumann stamp set ESN10, as are the white circles. I finished with turquoise and orange paint splatters.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Thanks for visiting,

Kasia's Advent Calendar - Days 4 and 5

Hi Everyone!

Here are my latest two pages for Kasia's Advent Calendar challenge.

Day 4 - A Walk.

I walk with my parent's walking group every Wednesday. This week it was very frosty, but also beautiful and sunny.

There's my Mum ahead in the red coat. Isn't that tree on the right stunning?!

Love this tree, and how blue the sky is.

And here is the page I created. I used a PaperArtsy stamp set for the bird and branches.

Day 5 - Sticks and Twigs. On our walk we were supposed to pick up some twigs etc. to use today. I already had a pinecone, and found a fir sprig in my garden to make some marks. I made the black marks with the pinecone.

Romance At TIOT

Hello Folks!

Try It On Tuesday have a Romance theme going on for the next couple of weeks, so I made a batch of Valentine's cards using a Gelli Plate technique by Gio of GiogioCraft. You can see Gio's blog post and video tutorial HERE.

I used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish acrylic paint, and I added words, using Sara Naumann and Dina Wakley stamps.

Wishing you all a creative day,

365 Somethings - Week 46

Hi Everyone! Thank you for all your kind messages on my last post. It appears I have an autoimmune condition and will have to take medication indefinitely. It's good to know what I'm dealing with, and hopefully the damage won't be too bad.

Today I decided to try out some festive designs on my teabags for Week 46 of the 365 Somethings Challenge. They may well end up on Christmas cards!

31 Product Challenge - Days 9, 10, 11 & 12

Hello Everyone! Today I'm sharing a page that I built up over 4 days for the 31 Products Challenge.

Day 9 - DecoArt Crackle Paste - I prepped my page with a page from my London A-Z, and added white gesso. Then I used a palette knife to apply the crackle paste, and used a bottle top to make some circles in it.

Day 10 - Walnut Ink - I lightly spritzed the walnut ink through an alphabet stencil, added some splashes and drips, and highlighted the circles.

Day 11 - Portfolio Water-Soluble Oil Pastels - I added some colour to the circles using two shades of blue oil pastels, and blended them with a wet paintbrush.

Day 12 - Rubber Stamps - The Postie brought me a lovely PaperArtsy stamp set by Sara Naumann, so today I inked some of the stamps up and finished my page.

I linking my bumblebee page up to Linda's Creature Comforts Challenge at Art Journal Journey. I've been suffering with a horrible cough and cold the last couple of days, and managing to make a little art has really helped.

Happy Friday! Hope you're all well, have a lovely weekend.

365 Somethings & 31 Products Challenge

Hi Everyone! I'm back after a lovely week away in The Derbyshire Peaks. As well as lots of fab hiking, we got to spend time with our lovely children. And to top it all, the weather was amazing.

So today, I'm catching up with a couple of weeks of my 365 Somethings teabag art.

First of all, here's week 38. Jo of Let's Art Journal asked me if I had used washi tape on my teabags. I hadn't, so this is what I used on these ones. I added some book text, outlined with Posca paint pens also.

Next, here are my week 39 teabags. PaperArtsy's Topic 17 Colour Challenge is A Box of Eggs. I used Fresco Finish acrylic paint and Sara Naumann stamps.

Birgit Koopsen has set another challenge on Instagram called 31 Products Challenge. The idea is to use a different product every day in October. The first product I decided to use was Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks, and I used them on an art journal page.

Socks and Golden Hours

Happy Friday Everyone!

PaperArtsy have a great Challenge topic on their blog at the moment which is 'Re-Inkers'. I decided to try the drop & spritz technique, inspired by Autumn's tutorial for the challenge.

My page was also inspired by Southern Gal's Designs video, where she used collage and inks on an art journal page.

I have a few distress ink re-inkers, which haven't been opened in a while. I used Salty Ocean, Stormy Skies, and Vintage Photo. The Stormy Skies bottle still had the plastic seal on! I also used PaperArtsy Sara Naumann stamps, and there's some tea splotches on my page too.

I'd also like to share with you some socks that I just finished crocheting for myself. I really love the Autumny colours. I used King Cole Zig Zag yarn if you're interested, and a pattern by Rohn Strong.

That's all for now. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
