Daisy Yellow Art ICAD Challenge 2022 - Week 6

Hello All.

It's time to share my latest week's ICADS for Daisy Yellow Art's/Tammy's challenge.

Here they are...

Oh dear, this one's a bit fuzzy, oops! And I didn't date stamp it either 😏

Wendy Solganik's aka Willa Wanders Fodder Challenge on Instagram has begun, and my latest 5 ICADs are made with some leftovers from the art I've been making. I'll share some of those projects with you this week.

Thanks for visiting,

Alison

A Few Cards

 Hi All.

Here are a few cards I made recently, for birthdays.

My daughter asked me to make a couple, one for her boyfriend. I used a PaperArtsy stamp.

And one for his nephew, who will be 3. I painted a watercolour dinosaur for him.

This is the card we gave to daughter's boyfriend. Another PaperArtsy stamp set, and some of my handmade washi tapes.

Our mum's birthday fall on the same day, and I made a couple of very similar cards for them, using some of my gelprints, and an Elusive Image flower stamp. Just before I sent them, I added a tiny orange adhesive gem to the flower centre.

I hope you're all having a good week.

Today is our wedding anniversary, 31 years, too many to give each other cards anymore. 😆 Hubby said my flowers were stuck in the basket, I'll believe that when it happens! 😂 We did go out for a country walk and a pub lunch though, to celebrate. 😍

AJJ - Spring

 Hello All.

I have another page to share for Valerie's Spring theme at Art Journal Journey.

This started off as a gelprint for GelliArts' March Printing Challenge over on Instagram. The prompt was sunshine. I've used my hand-carved foliage stamp on the print, and I used my circle stamp on the edges of the background. The little house is one of a series of watercolours for The 100 Day Project, and I used some book text for the words.

Below, you should be able to see the gold watercolour that I used on the house and the sun.

Thanks for visiting me today.

Artful August Day 16 - Torn

 Hello Everyone.

Here's my page for Rachel Greig's Artful August Day 16, with the prompt 'Torn'.

I've got some different types of gel prints on this page, and my stamped and torn word, so I'm linking my page to Neet's Type theme at Art Journal Journey. Used the neon pink acrylic ink again for some bright splashes.

Thanks for dropping by,

52 Weeks Art Journal - Week 24 - Postcard

 Hello All.

Thanks for your lovely comments on yesterday's post. I've a bit of a toothache today, I don't know whether that's normal after root canal. To be honest, the dentist was wearing full PPE, he looked like an astronaut, and I could barely understand what he said to me. I'll call them Monday if it persists though.

Elizabeth, I'm wearing a wrist support, and using my left hand to type as much as I can. I read that tennis elbow can take from 6 months to a year to heal. Very depressing!

I'm still managing a bit of art every day though, and today I have this week's page for Raspberry Blue Sky's 52WeeksArtJournal to share with you. The theme is Postcard.

I made a background with lots of round used teabags, then swiped a black ink pad over it and around the edges.

I used some gel prints to collage a 6x4" index card, then stamped some images by Sara Naumann for PaperArtsy. I added some gel print circles, stamped with Crafty Individuals butterflies. I think it looks like my postcard is being held in place by butterfly magnets.

I'm linking my page to Mia's Butterfly theme at Art Journal Journey.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Thanks for dropping by,

Art Journal Calendar - June 2021

 Hello All.

Before I show you my June calendar, I have some very sad news to share. I sadly had to have my sweet little guinea pig Angus put to sleep last Friday night. He'd lost his appetite and lost a lot of weight. I took him to a vet on Thursday, who said they could find nothing wrong. But, on Friday night he started fitting, and I quickly called the night vet, and took him in.

Bless him, he was was sweetest little guy, and I miss him so much. I didn't know his age, as he came from the animal rescue, so maybe it was his time. I'm glad I was able to take care of him for a happy two and a half years.

So it wasn't a happy end to May, but here's to a better month ahead.

Here is my bright and cheery June art journal calendar, with lots of butterflies for Mia's Butterfly theme at Art Journal Journey.

I laid down a base of torn gelliprint collage, scraped some Ice Blue PaperArtsy Fresco acrylic over the top, then mixed Tango orange and Cherry Red Frescos, and stencilled the butterflies using a hand drawn and cut paper stencil. I added outlines, wording, numbers and doodles with paint pens.

Before I go, here's my May calendar all filled out.

Thanks for visiting, hope you're having a good week so far,

Some Cards For Men

 Hello All!

I used to struggle with making cards for my male friends and family members, but these days I just grab some of PaperArtsy's Ink and the Dog stamps. They have some really great images. Here are a few cards I recently had to make.

I used Distress Oxide Sprays for some of the cards, washi tapes, and some gold trim that I've had for a very long time. There are some gold ink splatters on the card below, although it's not very visible.

This next card is a re-purposed one with gold trim and a birthday message added. It was originally a Father's Day card. That rugby team stamp is very handy for the rugby fans in my family.

I'm saving the next card for Hubby's birthday next month. It's ok, he never looks at my blog 😀

Thanks for dropping by today,

Big hugs,

GelliArts March Printing Challenge - Days 24-31

 Hello All. Happy April!

I have my final few March mono-prints to share with you today.

It's been a fun challenge, and has inspired a few of my hand-carved stamps in March. The elephant is one of my favourites.

Thank you for all of your lovely comments on my prints over the last month, they're very much appreciated.

Spring Is In The Air...

...is week twelve's theme for RaspberryBlueSky's 52WeeksArtJournal challenge.

I made a page with a gel prints quilted background, added a music paper flower, stamped my hand-carved bee and pebbles, and added some details with coloured paint pens.

I'm also linking this page to Sheila's A Single Flower theme at Art Journal Journey.

Thanks for popping by my blog today,

GelliArts March Printing Challenge - 18-23

Hello All.

I have a few more gel prints to share with you today. As usual, the daily themes are top left of each photo.

Those hand-carved stamps have been useful again. I carved the 'love is' right way round to work with my gel plate, and I need to do one wrong way round to stamp with.

Hope you're all having a good week.

GelliArts March Printing Challenge - Days 8-17

Hello Everyone! Happy St. Patricks Day to you all!

I thought I'd bring you up to date with my gel prints for GelliArts March Printing Challenge.

My favourite one has to be 'Beach' this week. I'm so happy with how that one turned out. You never know what you're going to get with a mono-print. Can you see the huge waves crashing in from the left of the print?
