More Christmas Crochet

Good morning lovely blog friends!

I made these little crochet star Christmas cards especially for my lovely group of crochet friends. They are such caring friends, and we have a lot of good times and laughs on our Friday mornings together.

I'm entering these cards in That's Crafty's 'Anything Goes' Challenge.

Wishing you a happy Wednesday,

365 Somethings - Week 47, and A New Friend in my Craft Studio

Happy Monday morning everyone!

As it's Monday again, I have my week 47 set of teabag art to share with you for IHanna's 365 Somethings Challenge.

For this set, I crocheted some snowflakes in different shades of 4 ply cotton yarn. I stamped a wreath (Artemio Stamps) onto the teabags, then used a snowflake brad to attach the crocheted snowflakes.

Then I simply adhered the teabags to 4x4" card blanks to make some more Christmas cards. I would like to enter my cards in That's Crafty's Winter Wonderland Challenge.

And finally, let me introduce you to Angus the guinea pig, my new craft studio buddy. On Saturday, I took pity on him at the animal rescue sanctuary where I volunteer, and decided to adopt him. He was so timid at first, but today he finally found his voice again...Squeak Piggy Squeak!

Have a creative day, and thanks for dropping by,

Birgit's March Gel Print Challenge - Days 6 and 7

Hi Everyone!

I took a day off of blogging yesterday, to go for a long walk in the sunshine, but I still managed to create some gel prints for Birgit's day 6 challenge, which was Flowers. I hand cut some flower shapes to use as masks, and got these prints.

I created a couple of cards to enter in That's Crafty's Spring Into Action Challenge.

Today's Gel Print theme is Threads, and here are my pages.

A clean up print, using chalk Fresco. Love the orange and turquoise it picked up from the previous print.

I can see a face in the one below...

A second print, removing the threads then using turquoise paint to pick up the green that was left beneath the threads.

Happy Mid-Week,

Bread and Journaling

Hello Folks!

I'm a day late to Elizabeth's Tea Day Party. A friend had an emergency, and I stepped in to help. But I'd already taken a photo of my oat bread loaf, fresh from the oven, and my cup of peppermint & liquorice tea.

Today, I created an art journal page for the final day of Erika's New Year/New Adventures challenge at Art Journal Journey.

Finger painting, printing with lids, lego and Fresco Finish Paint, book page scraps, a teabag, and Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs. Finished with some scribble journaling.

Wishing you a belated Happy T-Day!

And So The Adventure Ends?

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my cards and ugly page yesterday. The page looks better to me today! Grin!!

Onto the next and final page in my 7x5in journal.

I started in this journal last Summer, with Rae Missigman's Artmarks challenge, and it was a turning point for me, in that my pages became a lot more free and abstract. I love looking back in it. So this final page started like so many, with some collage and gesso. I used the book page I tore circles from yesterday.

Next, I added some colour with Vibrant Turquoise and Tangerine Dream Dylusions Paint.

I used some pieces of table protector, bubble wrap and plastic mesh to print.

And I had to add a teabag of course! I finished with a Tim Holtz quote and handwrote 'end' with DecoArt Media burnt umber paint. This was a little too fluid, so I decided to let it drip. Love it!

The adventure is not really ending, as I have another journal ready to take up where this one finished. So a new adventure is starting.

I'm linking to the following challenges...

and
Altered Book Lover Elizabeth's T Stands For Tuesday - a bit late on that one! Lol! But I used a teabag.

Happy Friday!

Art Journal Page - Breathe

Hello Everyone!

I found 15 minutes to create a page in my art journal this morning. This one was a quickie, before I headed off to get my hair cut. I already had a bit of paint on my page, then added some collage, gesso, a bit of stamping, some leaves cut from tea bags, a few splatters, and some journalling.

I'm linking my page to Erika's New Year, New Adventures Challenge at Art Journal Journey. I'm hoping to get in lots of countryside walks in January, in spite of the rain!

Thanks for dropping by,

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Week Two

Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique is hosting her 12 Tags of Christmas challenge again. Here is my card inspired by her Week Two Tag. I was inspired by the colours, techniques, snowflakes and bling on Linda's tag.

I used PaperArtsy Grunge Paste to stencil the snowflakes, then coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The die cut snowflakes and 25 were embossed with Aged Silver Frantage EP.

I'm also linking my card to That's Crafty's Tis The Season challenge.

Have a great weekend!

Artmarks 30 Day Summer Challenge 2017 - Days 22 and 23

Hello Everyone!

Here are my latest two pages for Rae's Artmarks Challenge.

Day 22 - Torn - I kept adding and adding to this page, and it still didn't rock my boat, but you have to stop sometime. Hence the phrase sticker on it.

Day 23 - Lettered - I was going to leave this page with just the background, but it niggled me, not really my style, so I stencilled the face then stencilled various letter e's and outlined. I used That's Crafty stencils, so I'm entering this page in That's Crafty's Anything but a Card Challenge.

Happy Sunday!
