Wanderlust Live Day Two

 Hi Everyone.

I have a few more projects from the Wanderlust Live weekend to share today.

First up is a pile of gel-printed collage fodder created with Iris Fritschi-Cussons. 

This was a fun exercise, using printer paper, book pages, tissue, teabags and a brown paper bag, acrylic and watercolour paint, Stabilo Woodys water-soluble crayons, pens and pencils.

Next I created a mixed media tag art journal spread with Arlyna Blanchard.

We created beautiful loose watercolour flowers with Francisca Nunes.

And finally for today, we created space for our inner light with Christine Karpiac.

There are more classes from the weekend I haven't yet done, so watch out for those.

AJJ - Flowers

 Hello friends.

Here's another junk journal page for Aimeslee's Flower theme on Art Journal Journey.

I started with some collage fodder, added some paint, some stencilled paste, a bit of stamping with one of my hand-carved stamps, a watercolour and doodled flower, some corrugated card and a sentiment. I used my Dymo for the word 'CENTRES' as I wanted the English spelling.

The Ugly Art Club 5 Minute Challenge

 Hi Everyone.

It's been a sad few days here in the UK, and my thoughts and prayers are with the royal family after the passing of our wonderful queen. 

I've had a few days away from my art room, reading and walking mostly, and now I'm ready to tackle another Instagram challenge. This one ran a couple of weeks ago, but I wasn't ready to join in then. It's a 5 minute art challenge, and I have enough pages left in my junk journal to complete it. I did have to add a tip-in of a folded paper bag though, and that is where my first page is.

Day 1's prompt is 'Tape'. I found some tape in a recent Daphne's Diary magazine. It had birds on it, which works perfectly for Neet's Fur or Feathers theme at Art Journal Journey. My page took around 5 minutes, I didn't time it, but it was definitely less than 10.

Daisy Yellow Art ICAD Challenge - Week 7

 Hello All.

Phew! It's so hot here at the moment, we're really not geared up for 40degC temperatures in the UK! I've been lying on the sofa reading/listening to books the last couple of days, but I thought I should get a blog post done. Fortunately, my art room where my lap top is, is the coolest room in the house.

I have some more ICADs to share with you today, for week 7 of Tammy's Daisy Yellow Art Challenge.

Our daughter Beth recently got an award for being one of the top 50 female engineers in the country, for innovation and invention in 2022. Here she is with her dad, who is a civil engineer, and inspired her to go into engineering. Beth joined Rolls Royce's graduate scheme whilst at uni, and now works for them in Bristol, in aviation. She is on the WISE(Women in Science & Engineering) board, and loves to encourage other young women into engineering. Needless to say, her dad and I are super proud of her.

AJJ - Spring

 Hello Everyone!

I finally got inspired to make another art journal page for Valerie's Spring theme at Art Journal Journey. I've used some of my watercolour flowers, and you may recognise a few of my hand-carved stamps.

Here's a closer look at the quote. It's a Dina Wakley one that I made with my Dymo printer. You can also see all the texture of the collage pieces that I used in my background.
