Autumn Colours with AJJ

 Hello All.

This week we have been having a wonderful time walking the coastal paths and watching the crashing waves on the North Devon coast. We really needed to get away, and it's been not exactly relaxing, but very refreshing. I adore being by the sea.

Our main reason for coming here was to visit the beautiful Ashbarton Estate that our daughter and fiance have booked for their wedding weekend in June 2026, so we had their company for a couple of days. The venue didn't disappoint you'll be pleased to hear. It's going to be perfect for the colourful festival wedding they are planning.

So, back to the real reason for this post. I have another page to share for my Autumn colours and inspiration theme at Art Journal Journey.

More teabags! I just love them! And I love toadstool spotting too, and have seen a few on my walks this week.

Thanks so much for visiting me today.

Gratitude

 Hello everyone.

I have another page to share for my Autumn Colours & Inspiration theme at Art Journal Journey.

There is so much to be grateful for, not least that we live in a peaceful country ๐Ÿ’”, and we don't get many hurricanes here๐Ÿ™.

You can just see the outlines of the rectangle teabags I used as my first layer on this page. I then added paint and stencilled leaves(outlined with a black biro), and used a rigger brush and black ink to draw the large leaf stem and write the title. I used a white Posca pen to add highlights and splatters. I also added some fine black and not so fine gold ink splatters.

Thank you to everyone taking part in the challenge at AJJ, so many and it's only halfway through the month, and your art has been beautiful! Thanks also for all the lovely comments on my recent posts.

Hugs,

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 11 - A Reason To Be Grateful

 Hello Everyone!

For Day 11 of the Gratitude Junk Journal course, our reason to be grateful prompt was to choose our favourite season. I chose Autumn, as I love all sorts of things about it, but especially the colours this time of year.

I first collaged some appropriate colours of gelliplate prints, added some black paint marks, and stamped with my hand carved leaf. I also added white paint pen splatters at this point.

I drew the large leaf shapes, then painted around them with nickel azo gold acrylic. I added black pen outlines and white pen doodles and writing, then wrote my title.

I'm linking my page to Chris' All Kinds of Weather theme at Art Journal Journey, and Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge Day 16.

Thanks for dropping by,

52 Weeks Art Journal - Week 43 - Today's Colour Palette

 Hello Everyone.

This week's prompt for 52 Week's Art Journal is 'Today's Colour Palette'. I've been out for an Autumn walk, and also visited a garden centre that had its Christmas decorations on display. So my page's colours reflect Autumn and Christmas colours.

52 Weeks Art Journal - Week 42 - Autumn Inspired

 Hello Everyone.

It's week 42 of Raspberry Blue Sky's 52 Weeks Art Journal Challenge, and the theme this week is 'Autumn Inspired'.

I had the watercolour leaves, quote and some papers left over from Leaca Young's Life Book taster class, and I layered them with some sari ribbon and collage papers to create my Autumn inspired page.

I'm linking my page to Tracey's My Favourite Colour Is October theme at Art Journal Journey.

Happy Friday to you all, have a wonderful weekend.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 17

It's Day 21 of Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, and today I have my Day 17 page for Gratitude Junk Journal to show you.

The prompt was Gratitude for beauty that you see around you. I decided to focus on the beautiful Autumn scenery and toadstools that I see on my morning walks. I used watercolours, Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks, Stabilo Woody pencils, Crafty Individuals stamps, and paint pens to create my spread.

As you can see, it all got a bit crazy and splattered.

Thanks for dropping by,

Wish Upon A Leaf

Hi Everyone!

Here's a final art journal page for Eileen's Dreams or Wishes theme at Art Journal Journey.

I found this gorgeous leaf on my walk yesterday, and incorporated it in a collage of book page and teabags, with splatters from red and white Posca Paint Pens.

Have a happy and creative day,

October Art Journal Calendar

Hello Everyone! Happy October!

I've been getting back to normal after returning from visiting our daughter in Germany. She is doing a 4 month placement, working for Rolls Royce in Friedrichshafen. As it is near the Swiss and Austrian borders, we went there too, and also Liechtenstein. Lots of lovely mountain hikes, beers and Wiener schitzel!

My Mum and Dad came also, and here's me with my daughter and Mum, up the mountain in Bregenz. I braved a gondola! Lots of people, so very claustrophic for me.

And now here is my October calender spread...

I used a small circular Gel Press plate, with acrylic paint and a skeleton leaf, to create the background.

I painted on the journaling leaves, and the black wording and outlines were made with my glass dip pen and Bombay India Ink. Doesn't the skeleton leaf create a beautiful leaf pattern?!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Birgit's Gel Printing Challenge - Week Three

Hi Everyone! I'm back to share some more monoprints with you, from this past week.

Day 15 - Fall/Autumn

Day 16 - Yarn

Day 17 - Texture Plates

Day 18 - Vegetables

Day 19 - Complimentary Colours

Day 20 - Felt Tip Markers. I stamped flowers onto my gel plate with black archival ink, then coloured them with Adirondak pens, allowing the ink to dry, then pulled the print with white acrylic paint. Unfortunately it was getting a bit late in the day when I took the photo!

Day 21 - Image Resist, using magazine images. Not easy to explain, but Birgit has a great YouTube tutorial on the Gelliarts channel.

Wishing you all a wonderful week,

Alison xox

365 Somethings Week 45 & A Journal Page

Good Evening Everyone! I'm here tonight with my 365 Somethings Week 45 Teabag Art. These were inspired by the beautiful Autumn trees, which still have leaves on them mid-November.

I painted my teabags with Cheddar and Ruby Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic, then stencilled leaf patterns with Gilt DW Acrylic. I stamped the PaperArtsy leaves onto gessoed music page, cut them out and glued them to the teabags. I wrote 'leaf' a few times with a black gel pen, then inked the edges with black archival ink.

I decorated another teabag, and used it on a journal page. I haven't had a lot of time for art journaling lately, it felt good to make this page.

Music page, tea-dyed gauze, corrugated card, my teabag art, and a Tim Holtz phrase sticker, and I couldn't resist a few watery paint splashes.

I have the dentist in the morning, but I hope to make some more art tomorrow. I've missed it!

Wishing you all a great evening,

Alison xox

365 Somethings - Week 42

Hi Everyone! As promised, I'm back again this morning, with my teabag art for 365 Somethings Week 42.

I must say, I really enjoyed putting these together! For each teabag, I stapled together some small pieces of map, music sheet, notebook page, and envelope, then simply stapled each one to a teabag. I found some Friendly Plastic charms, I'd created using moulds many eons ago, and used them to embellish the collages.

Here's a close up of the dragonfly...

And I really love this leaf... appropriate for the season I thought, and suitable for the Moo-Mania Autumn Challenge I hope...

Thank you so much for dropping by,

and I wish you all a wonderful week!
