Scrappy September Scavenger 13 - 15

 Hello Everyone.

I have 3 more pages to share today, for the Scrappy September Scavenger Challenge on Instagram.

Day 13 - Tan, Vellum, A bird sticker, Paisley

Bonus Item - A hand print

Used some items here that I've had in my stash a very long time! Vellum, stickers and Scrabble tiles. That's one of the great things about this challenge :-)

Day 14 - Red, Square, Comic book page, Puzzle piece

Bonus Item - Old leaf

I found the cartoons in a newspaper destined for the guinea pig cage :D The puzzle pieces are a vintage style stamp from a PaperArtsy set, as is the crossword stamp. I found the dried leaves on some neglected houseplants. I had to iron them a bit flatter. Lol!

I'm linking up to Wendy's Vintage theme at Art Journal Journey, and Country View Craft's The Leaves Begin To Fall Challenge.

Day 15 - White, Window envelope, Avocado dyed paper, Flower

Bonus Item - Embroidery thread

Luckily Hubby likes avocado, and there was an empty half and a stone handy, so I boiled them for about 90 minutes, then dyed some book and music pages. I'll be doing this again! I used embroidery thread to stitch the crosses onto the dyed book page scrap.

Halfway point of the challenge 😊😊😊

Thanks so much for visiting, and for all your lovely comments.

Art Journal Journey - Texture

 Hi Everyone!

Here's another page for Jo's Texture Theme at Art Journal Journey.

I began with layers of old book page scraps texture, then used my finger to apply my new favourite colour combination of acrylic paint - Prussian Blue, Orange Red, Oxide Yellow, and Titanium White.

I added some lines, using a piece of corrugated card to print with the Prussian Blue paint, and scraped some texture paste through a PaperArtsy number stencil. I highlighted the numbers with the blue paint. I used a small lid and white acrylic to add some white circles, then added splashes of white paint.

I finished by adding a Tim Holtz PaperDoll image and some found book text, and outlined them with a black Stabilo pencil.

Do you think Frances is on the lookout for a rich boyfriend at the dance?!

I'm also linking up my page to Country View Crafts Complimentary Colours Challenge.

Thanks for dropping by, I hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Christmas Remakes

Morning Folks!

I received a Christmas card order from a friend, and she really liked this one that I made last year, so I made a couple more in different colours for her.

The background is made with Dylusion Spray Inks and a Crafter's Workshop snowflake stencil. I die-cut two Tim Holtz Tattered Doilies, glued them together, and triple embossed with Frantage Aged Gold & Silver EP. The message stamp is by The Artistic Stamper, inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The ribbon was coloured using the same Dylusions inks as the background.

Which is your favourite?

I'm entering my cards in Country View Crafts' Christmas Challenge.

Have a lovely day!

365 Somethings - Week 22

Hello Everyone! I'm still catching up with my teabag art for I Hanna and Daisy Yellow's 365 somethings challenge on Instagram. Here are my seven teabags for week 22.

For these teabags, I added a hand torn circle of tea stained book page, then stamped images from PaperArtsy Ink & Dog (my favourite stamp range from PaperArtsy). To make the words stand out, I stamped them onto unstained book page, cut them out and glued in place. Some are part of the image, and some not. Here's a close up of one of my favourite images...

I'm entering these in Country View Crafts 'Written Word' Chalenge, as they have book text and stamped words.

I've got a couple more weeks of teabags to do, then I'm up to date, and then I'll be back in my art journal again. I've missed it so much!

Happy Wednesday!

Art Marks Day 12 - Unfold

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Day 12's Art Marks word is Unfold. Until recently, I'd rarely unfold on my blog, and share personal details. It was all about showing the art, and as few words as possible. I don't really like writing to be honest. Haha! Today, the bosses of the company who are taking over the rail project hubby is working on, are coming in to meet the staff. It will be interesting to see what unfolds from this!

On this page, I adhered torn book page, teabag, and Gelli Print scrap, then added marks and doodles with acrylic paint and pens. It was a 20 minute page, as it's a sunny day, and I was going out for a walk and coffee with my best friend and her son.

Enjoy the rest of your day,

Alison x

Art Journal Page - Explore

Morning Everyone! (Or Afternoon, depending where and when you're reading this) And sometimes the mornings fly by after I start creating, and before I know it, I've missed lunchtime! Lol

I'm still determined to create some art every day, and that reminds me, I need to go and buy another journal as Hobbycraft have a sale on. This page took about half an hour, as my tea wasn't too cold when I finished, like it usually is.

This was another page with leftover paint printed with bubblewrap. I had some scraps of gelli prints from another project lying on my desk, so I collaged them into a rectangle on the page, then reached for a charcoal pencil and scribbled some circles and journalling, then painted around the circles with Bora Bora Fresco. Used my pencil to write 'explore', then finished with some black Bombay ink splatters. No page is complete without splatters!

Happy creating!

Crafty Individuals Blog Candy and Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone!

I was thrilled to win Crafty Individuals' blog candy last week, which was their three new Christmas stamps, a pair of sledging polar bears, a beautiful bird/robin, and some cute snow people. So I quickly inked them up and made a few more Christmas cards.

I used distress inks to watercolour paint the images, and made six of each card. That's 82 cards made now, I think that'll be enough!

Have a great week everyone!

Country View Challenges - Blue and Green

Hello Everyone!

I found a bit of time to do some art journaling yesterday, a little bit of collaged gelli-printed tissue,  some doodled vines, and a Picasso quote I found online.

I'm off to my lovely crochet group this morning, for a bit of hooking and chatting,

wishing you all a happy Friday,

LOVE Art Journal Page

Morning Everyone!

Although the Art Marks Challenge is now finished, I decided to carry on filling up my little 7x5 inch journal with art.

Here is an abstract page I made yesterday, using my favourite Dina Wakley paint colours of Turquoise and Lime, with a bit of Ruby for contrast. The 'Love' stamp was a Craft Stamper mag freebie.

Hope you all have a wonderful, arty day,

Alison x
