Try It On Tuesday - Small Things

 Hello All.

I'm delighted to tell you that I am the guest designer for Try It On Tuesday's new theme of Small Things.

I created an ATC for the challenge.

My base is a Stampbord ATC, which I coloured with Distress Inks. I stamped the Tim Holtz fairy children, then used Crafty Individuals stamps to create their garden, and used a script stamp to add interest to the grass and sky. I used coloured pencil to add more colour, then finished with some found words from a book page, and a few black paint splatters.

Please head over to Try It On Tuesday to see the team's wonderful artwork. I do hope you'll join in with the challenge.

And they called it....

Puppy love was the first record that I bought myself. So long ago now, I was a huge Donny Osmond fan. I did eventually see him in concert, probably about ten years ago now. He was still dreamy...sigh...

Here's my art journal page inspired by that first single I bought. I'm linking it to my Play It Again, Sam theme at Art Journal Journey.

I used up a few pieces of collage fodder I had lying around. The main image is a Tim Holtz stamp, and I used my hand-carved heart stamp for the large hearts. I also stamped the hearts 3 times onto orange inky card, and cut out the centres, then offset these against the white hearts.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Gratitude Junk Journal Day 8 with Gwen LaFleur

 Hello All.

My daughter was at Cop26 this week with her work colleagues. They are working on a project for sustainable aerospace. She saw some amazing stands and displays, and came to the conclusion that there should be more young people sitting at the table and making decisions for the good of the planet. It certainly appears that there is a lot of talk, but very little action!

Day 8 of Gratitude Junk Journal with Gwen LaFleur was all about gratitude for water. Gwen's tutorial had an ocean theme to it, which is very appropriate in these times.

Here's my page. I used diluted coffee for the drips and splashes, and the ocean creatures are Tim Holtz stamps.

I'm linking my page to Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge, Day 13.

I hope you're having a good weekend.

Thanks for dropping by,

Alison

Cards for Mothers and Daughters

 Hello All.

I have a couple of cards to share with you today, the first is a Mother's Day card. I used the same techniques as on this art journal page a few days ago, with watercolour paint and a black pen sketched flower.

And the second is a new job card for my daughter. Beth has taken a secondment post for a year, on a government based project for sustainable aerospace. I'm very proud of my talented girl! She's very excited by the nature of the project.

I sketched the plane, created a stencil, and after stencilling with black paint on a mono-printed background, I used a white paint pen to add details. I finished with some suitable Tim Holtz phrase stickers.

Thanks for dropping by today,

Art Journal Journey - Count Your Blessings

Hi Everyone! I have another page to share with Elizabeth's Count Your Blessings Challenge at Art Journal Journey

I'm blessed to have my good friend Hazel of Hazel's Creative Moments living nearby, and we regularly get together for a day of crafting. I also get my doggy fix with Hazel's gorgeous two black cocker spaniels Josh and Murphy.

I took my art prompt cards over to Hazel's house on Tuesday, and we had fun creating a couple of pages with them. This was my first page.

I was fortunate to win a set of Tim Holtz's Sealife stamps from Autumn of Sew Paper Paint, and used these on my page.

I'll be back tomorrow with the second page I created at Hazel's house.

Birthday and Valentine's Day Cards

Hello Everyone! I'm shivering as I write this, as we still have no heating and hot water. Our boiler has been officially declared dead and unsafe, so Hubby is busy getting quotes for a new one. Brrr!!!

I tried to warm up yesterday, by making a few commissioned cards(didn't work, but it took my mind off it!)

A birthday card, using Craftwork Cards and DCWV products...

Valentine's card, made with stamps Artistic Stamper and Tim Holtz stamps, and Dylusions paint (mostly)

and two cards made with Dylusion paint, and stamps by Dina Wakley and PaperArtsy.

Hope you are warm and having a good week,

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas 2017 - Week Eleven

Hi Everyone!

Here's another Christmas card! This one was inspired by the colours and ribbons on Linda's Week 11 Tag.

I've used Distress Inks and Frantage EP again, with a bit of Stickles glitter glue thrown in. I used a Wendy Vecchi stamp to make my red 'ribbon'. The sentiment stamp is by Crafty Individuals, and the holly is by Tim Holtz.

It doesn't want to get light here today, so the photos aren't that great unfortunately. Hopefully you can see a bit of the sparkle.

The challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique, with voucher prizes to be won.

Have a fab Wednesday, I'm off for a coffee and catch-up with some friends :-)

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas - Tag One

Morning All!

Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique is doing her annual 12 Tags Challenge. I'm a little late to the party, but here's my version of Linda's Tag One. I was inspired by the deer and woodland scene on Linda's Tag.

I brayered Dylusion's paints for the background, stencilled a snowy hill with Snowflake Fresco Paint, stamped Tim Holtz trees and foliage, embossing the foliage with Frantage Aged Gold. The Sizzix TH deer is painted with DecoArt Burnt Umber. I stamped and embossed a Crafty Individuals sentiment, then finished with a sprinkling of Aged Gold EP.

Happy Wednesday!
